Very poor readings Samsung 830 series 256GB SSD

Hi,
I have just installed my Samsung 830 256GB SSD on my Rampage 11 extreme
motherboard on SATA11 [This board only supports SATA 11]

I have run a test with CrystalDiskMark and I am very concerned why the results are so poor

The 4K and 4KQD32 results are so poor.

In a earlier thread where I was looking at buying a SSD a member posted there results using a
Crucial CT128M4SSD2 128GB M4 SSD

The member was also on SATA11 but the results using the same testing software showed much high results.

The 4K results are much higher than mine.

Do I have a faulty SSD or am I doing something wrong.

Any help and advice please.
Gary

You can't compare your results with another forum member's results UNLESS both of you are running EXACTLY the same system bar SSD.

...and you're comparing a Samsung 830 v M4. Did you check the detailed specs of each drive to understand what you _should_ see?

Samsung 830 Series 512GB SSD Review > Benchmarks: CrystalDiskMark 3.0 - TechSpot Reviews You'll see that in some tests an M4 is simply better than an 830.

I did mention in your earlier thread that most are advertised based on sequential speeds, which is largely irrelevant to day to day use.

But what controller are you using, what drivers, and what policies are in force on the drive?

Hi,
Please follow my post here ...... Very poor readings Samsung 830 series 256GB SSD - Overclockers UK Forums

look at the last few posts about updates .... above where I post new test.

I would have never have thought about those downloads as I am very new to pc upgrades.

AV forums brilliant.

Ok an update from my early post about how I was buying the

ASUS U3S6, 2x USB 3.0/2x SATA 6Gb/s, PCIe x4

So now I should be SATA 111 6Gbs

It is installed on the last Pci e x16 slot and the results again are very poor.

1st picture [TEST1] Is from the ASUS U3S6, 2x USB 3.0/2x SATA 6Gb/s, PCIe x4

The 2nd [TEST 2] is from the motherboard SATA11.

I have looked everywhere for the latest drivers thinking it might be this that is giving me such poor results.
I have looked around the internet and posts are saying go to station-drivers.com , I have no idea what driver I need.

Any advice please.
