Bungie.net : Halo 3: ODST Forum : Disc Unreadable [OP UPDATED 10.20.09]

I'm getting this problem and can't get beyond early level in ODST Campaign!

Is there anyone else in the UK getting this? What have you done to resolve?

My console is now out of warranty and Microsoft Support are dragging their heals at the moment!

I have had this happen to me once. Touch wood ( I am knocking my head here) that it wont happen again.
I will be following this thread as my Xbox has had a flogging, and if my machine fails because of this game, I will be surely ****** off..

I just read that link, man oh man, MS don't give a rats ass..
Looks like I will be getting out my old Atari 2600 and placebo gaming...

Update: Seemingly I'm going to get a "free repair" now. I was specifically asked if any other games are experiencing the fault - in my case, no. I was also asked to check that the game works fine on another Xbox. I'd already got a replacement from Argos so was confident I didn't have a dodgy disc. I suspect MS / Bungie know the cause of this but are keeping that under wraps for some reason!? I should get a repair report from MS when then unit comes back so that might give a clue. Anyway I hope others experiencing the problem get the same service.
