Messages from people you have beaten

Does anyone else get these? they mainly come from americans and i find them so funny.

I just had one coming from some guy named dadew calling me a noob for having like 14 scorpion kills (bearing in mind i was only in the tank once because no one else was, i normally don't bother with it) and then he goes on to call me a crappy brig. so i check out what rank he is expecting him to be a general if his calling a brig crappy.... and his a colonel with a kill death ration of 1.00 and 0.99 lol.

Anyone else got some funny stories of post game messages?

Yeah, all the time. Especially from people who think they're better than they are. The Rule of Abuse seems to be: the higher the rank, the sorer the loser.

I had one the other day from a guy who betrayed me (deliberately) when he thought I was going for the sword on Heretic (I wasn't). He called me a little b**** and so on, and arbitrarily decided that I was eight years old because I sent him a text message (never use my mic when playing solo). I rejected the aspersions he cast on my good name, and he sent me another message back doing the same thing. I filed a complaint and ignored him after that.

I mean, really - he got booted fair and square! He only has himself to blame.

On other games i've had messages, typically from americans who are sore i've managed to kill them

The last one i got, and no i cant repeat it due to forum rules

, was because he and his team mates (all american) - who had been talking it up in the pre-game lobby about how much they were going to pown us, and were ranks 40-odd in this game, while we were 1-15 ranks - were all lagging like anything when you tried to shoot them. So i pulled out an auto-shotgun and killed 4 or 5 out of 8 of them in a couple of rounds at point blank range.

Then i got these lovely messages calling me a newb and how skill-less i was

Part of this behaviour makes me feel warm inside at annoying an annoying person, another part of me is disappointed and wants to give up playing online due to such people...

I almost always get people who betray for weapons booted, even if it means losing the game. People will always betray you again if you follow them and accidentally keep on assault rifling them in the back.

all u have to do is what i normally do, when u get a message send one back and really go to town with the message, then before he gets chance to send u another message go to the message the guy first sent and scroll to the bottom and select 'block communications'

he cannot send u anymore messages and he will be going mad trying to work out why he cannot send them.

my favourite was when we beat team of containing Generals and brigadiers one of them sent me a message congratulating me on being a Staff Captain i just replied with " Thanks congratulations on being beaten by a staff captain "

I got a message off an american after I played my first Halo 3 match online recently, as he'd been whupped by a level 1 new kid! I did the same thing as Jason!

i had one once just recently on halo 3 who sent me a message with a picture in it which looks like it had been taken from the game which said something quite rude on it. was quite suprised at bungie for that one. i'll send it to anyone who wants to know what it was cos i cant remember

If so, it's possible it was modded content. In which case, DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR FILE SHARE.

If you do, you'll get perma-banned (no, I'm not kidding - Bungie has given many warnings about this on bungie.net).

User-created content is fine, but hacking photos and other file share content is not - Bungie applies the same penalties to those who spread it (even unwittingly) as those who actually mod the content to begin with.

I assume you mean the swear word is on the background scenery? Might not be modded, just depends. Go into Forge and have a look - if you can't see it there, then chances are it's modded content. In which case, get it out of your file share ASAP!

Personally, I never take the risk. If it ain't my clip (or that of a friend), it doesn't go in my file share
