Vidmaster "Endure" Possiblly the most difficult of the lot..

First attempt tonight on "Alpha Site Interior"...

Didn't even get past the first round..

Is this even possible?

I'm not a newbie by any means but.. really.. it's tough.

Anyone got any ideas of the best map and tactics??

done it a few days ago on that map.

they key things to have are good communication, half decent team mates (ones who actually know that plasma takes shields off) and have 2 people covering each entrance.

so you have 2 teams standing in-between the small staircase and the larger one at the back. have both facing the 2 entrances, try and stay close to the wall so you don’t get grenades thrown at you from the other teams ent.

remember to get the extra ammo for the rockets and only let someone who is qualified to use them use them. only use rockets for hunters and chieftains don’t waste them on normal brutes.

always have at least 1 person with a plasma rifle (this was my job), imo they work much better than a plasma pistol, the plasma rifle person should just concentrate on breaking the shields and let another team mate finish them off with a head shot. he will not get many kills but it doesn’t matter, it’s a team game.

also remember that when the round is up you get a weapon drop, so if you have any ammo left on the racks before the drop go and grab it so you don’t use all your new ammo as soon as it spawns.

a good way to kill hunters without wasting rocket ammo is to use the shotgun and dodge left each time it swings for you then circle round and shotgun it in its back soft spot.

i think that’s it, not a very well constructed post, but i just wrote what i remembered as it came to me :P

it took us just under 2 hours to get to set 5, oh and whatever you do, do not quit when you hit set 4, you have to complete set 4.

Yeah, basically what EDDS said

Don't waste any lives early on. We made it past Set 4 on Alpha Site with over 20 lives left

But we were itching to get our rec0nz at that point, so we just betrayed each other and messed around until all our lives were gone. I reckon we could get well over a million on Alpha Site.

Plasma is absolutely critical later on, as the Tilt skull activates (meaning normal UNSC weapons won't take down shielded enemies). Pistol, rifle, both are useful - plasma pistol then normal pistol is best for brutes IMO, but plasma rifle is the most versatile.

Don't forget to get rockets after each round, too - they will save your bacon a lot later on! On round with Black Eye activated, use the medipacks before rushing out to get melee kills. It's better to waste a medipack than a life!

Don't forget to work in pairs, with two covering each set of stairs. The Covenant can only approach from two directions, remember, so force them into the bottlenecks and get killing.

Have you tried Lost Platoon instead? The TGs eased past "Endure" on that map. I still think Alpha Site is easier personally (Black Eye will get you killed more quickly on a huge map like Lost Platoon where you can't get in close as easily), but it might be easier to get started...? Grab the hog, have someone else with laser working on the wraiths, and get the last dude on a chopper if poss (ideally, the player left with the laser should be able to take care of themselves, as they'll be on foot and alone).

11.30pm is a bit late but I am definetly keen to do this. If earlier would be great if not count me in for an attempt tonight.

We certainly did "ease" past it

Although I watched the 1st set again in Theater and we had 0 lives left with 2 waves to go in the set, and that's with Black Eye on!

The laser guy can have a chopper too - he just needs to get off when the wraiths are dropped - WRAITH DOWN!

Yep I've playing some Firefight, finding 4 players on at the same time is a nightmare though :/ I can see Firefight being dead soon which is a shame.

Use a chopper yourself too and hop out to laser the wraiths every time they land as EEC says, it really helps having everyone in vehicles most of the time!

No fuss Jase, the excitement stemmed from the fact that getting the Endure achievement unlocked Recon for me and Sordid.......Endure is not a difficult achievement, it just takes a considerable amount of time (around 2 hours ish seems to be the norm).

I notice you don't have the Vidmaster Annual achievement Jase - perhaps the '4 Man Clan' could have a bash at that one next time. Far more of a challenge than both Endure and Deja Vu

Throw in getting a Highest Skill beginning with 2 (minimum) and you might be somewhere near earning your stripes
