Do people party up to help each other get medals?

I ask because i know someone who got Perfection and Invincible medals today. He said he got them legitimately but then his Brother let slip he had teamed up with some people he had asked help for getting medals with using Social Team DLC and Rumble Pit.

He also got the Save This Film and Have Fun Respawning and Killing Frenzy achievements.

If this is true...anyone fancy partying up so we all get these medals and achievements?

I guess we need a party of 8 or so?

Yes, people do party up to get achievements (not heard of it specifically for medals, though) - same as most online games.

If people want to boost achievements, that's up to them, but it's not personally something I want to do. I only need "Save This Film" anyway - got everything else, and did so legit. And I think I'm only missing an Invincible medal from my medal chest on b.net now, too.

But regardless, I guess you'd only need four people, technically speaking, so long as everyone had a second controller and signed in a guest. Don't forget, though, you can only earn a perfection medal by getting fifteen kills in a SLAYER game variant (no objective games) and by winning. If you lose, you don't get a perfection.

You can't get the killing frenzy achievement that way, though, as I believe that's restricted to Lone Wolves only (or Legendary Brawl when it arrives on double XP).

I agree. He has been boosting to get his skill up too, which is something i will not do.he is at skill 15 and asked me to do it for him but i told him to do it himself and not cheat. He has been finding boosting partners and even doing the language cheat.I'm not the greatest player but was pleased with myself when i managed to get to 20 in Lone Wolves a few weeks ago.I know that means nothing to people 30+ skill but i was pleased that i had done it legit. It's more rewarding doing it that way.

Tbh it has put me off playing Halo for a while and made me go back and and try and finish COD4 on veteran.Just 2 levels and the bonus level to do now which is something i never thought i would be able to say.

Well,well,well!

My nephew who was doing the boosting has just had a 2 week ban imposed by Bungie.

He says he can still play but won't get any exp during that period.

Personally i think Bungie shoulde strip people of the medals and achievements they got when they were boosting too.

Pleased i didn't give in to the dark side and boost too

Agreed. I'm still xp banned for getting disconnected repeatedly when I wasn't there and I can say that getting no xp isn't a punishment at all. If people have boosted hard achievements they should get something worse.

I was going to warn you about that, actually! A mate of mine got the same ban for boosting his splatter spree achievement (Look Both Ways) using a mongoose on Ghost Town.

Although it can ruin games, I understand if people play for achievements, as that's not cheating. But boosting is bad, mmmkay?

I would like to see boosters stripped of those same achievements, too, but it won't happen. Apart from anything else, this is a Bungie thing - Microsoft are the only folks with the power to reset gamerscore and accounts, as far as I'm aware.

Why would you ever go to the effort of doing it with a mongoose . Did he just play a normal game and have one friend who would keep running up to him or did he have an entire games worth of guests/friends? I've always wondered how they are so accurate with the ban hammer for achievement boosting but couldn't hit a nail in a...nail shop when it comes to skill boosting.

I think it was just the first map that came up! And he had a whole game of boosters I think, yeah.

Re: Do people party up to help each other get medals?

Bungie.net : Halo 3 Career Stats

That's my nephew's medal chest on Bungie.net.

He got Running Riot,Rampage,Untouchable,Invincible and Perfection from boosting.

He also got the Save This Film and Have Fun Respawning achievements at the same time.

If you look at his game history for the 23rd and then look at the Post Game Carnage Report you can see what they did.He says all the other boosters have been banned to.

Stlll think they should have medals and achievements stripped. Not really fair on those who have got them legit.

Hey ho.

Re: Do people party up to help each other get medals?

If people want to boost achivements or medals then I say let them. It's only virtual willy waving.

I don't boost because I can have a happy prosperous life regardless of whether I have 1200 points or 1500 points on Halo 3. If I get the achievements then cool, if not then I can still sleep at night.

I like waving my virtual willy - it's bigger than my real one. But yes, it's a fair point!
