Drums dying altogether- warning for those considering buying them

Well my crappy drums have now died altogether.

Had 3 days of great play

Then Red pad started to register a hit when striking any of the other pads
Got the midi cable, tweaked it - all OK.

Then the pedal started getting super sensitive.
A bit of insulation tape placed on the pad to dampen it a little solved that.

Then the whole kit started randomly powering off mid play. Started every few tunes, then today played 2 1/2 songs with it cutting out about 6 times until finally cut out and won't power up again. Not the batteries- know that for a fact (Changed them 20 times!).

All in all- shocking piece of rubbish. Was really looking forward to playing with it, and did enjoy it to begin with, now I just totally regret buying the whole thing as its been an over priced disappointment. I mean, just look at the lengths people have had to go to to repair and tune them let alone anything else, seems way too much effort vs reward to me.

If you're not up for all that, seriously recommend you don't bother buying them!

That's a shame that you've had such bad luck with them, but they're not all rubbish. I've had no problems with mine.

Any manufactured product will have a percentage that dosent fall within expected tolerances and fails early, you might just have a dodgy set, so worth trying to get exchanged/fixed and see if the new one is better.

I'm hoping it is just a naff set!
Gamestation picking it up tomorrow, shall see when I get a replacement!
Annoyingly they're having to take the whole lot back, so can't play guitar while I'm waiting, knowing my luck the replacement Guitar will probably play up

i prefer the drums so much more than the rock band set, but they are of lower quality internally.
ive reapired my red pad about 5 times now, but dont regret buiying them.
just remembering the clack clack clack everytime i hit the rock band set convinces me i did the right thing changing.

we're on our fourth set

1st set - red pad became unresponsive
2nd set - foot pedal unresponsive out of the box
3rd set - yellow cymbal became unresponsive (i think the kids may have had something to do with that)

thankfully I bought ours from Costco who's returns policy is 2nd to none

Gamestation collected next day, to their credit -waiting to see how long it might be before a replacement will arrive.

Been away for a week and returned to find a new set delivered.

Been playing lots since last night, and so far new set seems a LOT better, no tuning yet required it's all spot on. Must note that its the supposed newer set, with the smooth cymbals and philips screws underneath, all in all so far so good

Its a bit obvious I know but mine started cutting out, ie losing connection to my console.

Turns out a new set of batteries were in order.

Today my drums have stopped working as well, well when i say "not working" i mean one of the symbols (the yellow one) just completly stopped picking up pressure against its sensor. I figured out that it was the little cable underneath the symbol. It had been pushed in way too far and hard therefore scrambling up the wires and circuit board.

That £60 gone down the drain, only lasted a month .
Everything else works fine though.

So just be careful when you plug in the wire underneath the symbol. DO NOT PUSH IT IN HARD AND QUICKLY OR ELSE IT WILL MESS UP YOUR DRUMS.
