Pinnacle 3010ix causing vista media centre to freeze

Hi, first post of many i'm sure. Hoping that this issue has been seen elsewhere.

My PC specs are:
TV Tuner: 3010ix - Freeview.
MOBO: Asus P5KPL-AM iG3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz
MEM: 4GB RAM (OCZ gold)
GPU: Asus HD4670 512mb
OS: Vista Ultimate 32bit

I originally had 64bit Vista Ultimate but changed to 32bit because of this problem, however the exact same issue still exists.

Installation of the card was fine, using the latest Pinnacle drivers from the website. Using VMC I scanned for the channels and all of them came up as expected, programme guide downloaded ok.

However, after install, I can go into media centre and watch live TV (have tested this for approx 15mins with no problems) but when I come out, the next operation that I do, regardless of what it is, the PC freezes. It makes the continual noise of a media centre select sound like its in a loop. No commands work after this and the only way out is to hold down the power button and restart.

As I said, this happens on both versions of Vista ultimate, and I have tried using different drivers including those for the Blackgold, all with the same result.

All other functions of Media centre work fine so I believe this to be a problem with the TV card.

Thanks.

Remove the drivers totally and then do a Windows update and it should offer you compatible drivers.

Thanks Andy,

Have tried uninstalling them, but will do a driver sweep later and post results.

Re: Pinnacle 3010ix causing vista media centre to freeze

Tried unistalling, windows update did have a file for the pinnacle card but I still have the same issue.

Is there any software or any methods to uninstall all drivers associated with the TV card? I've tried 4 or 5 different ones and some of them may still remain after doing the uninstall in device manager.

Thanks.
