need advice on upgrading my brothers graphics card to play football manager 2009....

as title states i'm looking for some advice on a good spec graphics card that will cope with playing the new football manager 2009 game.....

he currently has a pentium 4 2.6ghz cpu running 1.25gb ddr ram and a 64mb agp radeon 9000 graphics card....

he intends to add another 1gb of ram to the system as well

the game states a minimum of 128mb radeon 9800 graphics card which i cant seem to find to purchase so i was wondering if you guys could recommend me something more up to date but suitable....

he would really like something with 256mb and willing to pay about £50 absolute tops....

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet if you're buying new is something like this:
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB AGP - Aria Technology
or
PowerColor X1650 Pro 512MB DDR2 VGA DVI TV Out AGP Graphics Card - Ebuyer

Or look out for an nVidia 7600GS which is about the same (or 7600GT which is better still).

These will be plenty to run that game well, and a few more demanding games as well if needed (they are both a fair bit better than the 9800pro which is now a very old card).

AGP cards aren't being made anymore, so you're paying a little over the odds for them really - it can be well worth looking second hand for a bargain - such as in the classifieds section over by here--------> Computer Classified Adverts - AVForums.com

Don't be tempted to actually buy a 9800pro though. If it's the minimum requirement, it won't run it too smoothly - whereas the above cards would .

There's an AGP 7300GT 512MB available on the forum at the moment that would do the job (more or less on a par with the 1650pro and 7600GS - definitely better than the old 9800pro).

Worth offering £20-£25ish including postage.

Edit: Has now been sold for £18 incl. Ah well.
