Samsung SM2032BW

Hello everyone! My first post, but I have been lurking around for some time now and got lots of useful information and equal amounts of confusion!

I bought a SM2032BW monitor on Sunday (from Comet, 169pounds - cheapest I found). The monitor had a very very bright stuck red pixel which was showing only on black and blue background.

After using JScreenFix (not sure if Im allowed to post links to products, so just google it) for a whole day, the pixel got unstuck and I have not seen it again. To begin with it was bright but started flashing and changing colour, later on it faded and faded and faded.....until it vanished!

Hope this helps people with similar issues.

All in all I am quite happy with the monitor, except the cheap vga cable it came with (it also had a dvi cable but I have not seen it yet). Unfortunatelly my laptop does not support the native resolution, so I am missing out from this and the lack of dvi output, but im not too fussed about it. The size of 20" is good for me and to be honest when I compared the 20" and 22" side by side at the shop, the size difference did not justify the 45pounds difference.....

Would anyone suggest any good settings they use on this?

Take care,
Solomon

Re: Samsung SM2032BW

Hi

Ive got this monitor and ive got 2 white stuck pixels which are on the outsides of the screen and i cant get them to shift so might try that site you listed and run that all day.

as for settings, i hear the software which comes with the monitor is suppose to be very good so i might give that ago aslong as it works with Vista

Re: Samsung SM2032BW

Hello,

yes give it a try...I was sceptical to begin with, but it worked! its free anyway, so nothing to lose really. It does work better with Firefox, in the sense that you can run it in a small window and place it on the stuck pixels. Otherwise it runs full screen. Note that on the website, if you dont open it with Firefox it doesnt give a download option.

With regards to settings, I must admit that the cd (or dvd?) didnt do anything (I run XP). I had to install the drivers manually. I gonna have a better look though...

Hope your pixels get unstuck!
