Re: Hd 2600 Agp

my card is still going strong! I did a full reinstall of the whole OS (XP SP3) and drivers etc. and so far so good.

PDVD 8 (with HDVDV hack) plays almost everything I throw at it pretty well (BD & HD) through the 720p projector using VGA.

I also get Freesat HD through DVBViewer fine using the PDVD codec.

I think I'm on the 7.11 Catalyst drivers - afraid to upgrade, as god knows what it could do!!

Re: Hd 2600 Agp

wait for a new passive agp 4670 or 4650.

But will it have a TV Out?

I suppose one aimed at HTPC's would by definition do so

Re: Hd 2600 Agp

I've misplaced the driver CD for my Sapphire HD2400 AGP and any drivers I've found on the web haven't worked. Could someone point me in the right direction because I cannot find it anywhere

Thanks,
Marcus

Re: Hd 2600 Agp

You need the AGP Hotfix drivers. Standard Catalysts don't work on AGP 2000 series cards.

Yes ATi doesn't pay much attention to their AGP users anymore. You need to use the AGP hotfix version of the Catalyst drivers. Unfortunately the latest version isn't always the best, but it's usually the only one you will find on ATi websites. If you want DXVA to work you should use 8.12 hotfix or even go back to 8.5 hotfix, see Watching h.264 videos using DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA). | My collection of short anime reviews which in turn points to ATI Catalyst Drivers Downloads where you can at least find the 8.12 hotfix drivers.

Re: Hd 2600 Agp

I have a 3650 AGP on another compy, and I remember getting the drivers on the sapphire website (the ones on ati's site wouldn't recognise the card on installation). If you still have problems finding it, try their forum, they have a lot of knowledgeable users on there.
