buying GTA4 and freezing issues!!!

Hi all,
Going to buy GTA4 but concerned about the game freezing?
Has the latest PS3 update cured this problem?
Any info would help me in my decision!

I used to have the problem and had NO problems since the update by Rockstar.

Do you have a launch console, it's mainly affecting those.

I've got a 40gb machine and i've had a pretty flawless experience with the game (the only downside being not being able to get online with it at peak times). Not crashed once and I seem to be immune to all these framerate issues that are 'plaguing' people.
