I was thinking about that for a while now. Seeing as there are still people here playing GT5P (after 1 year and 5 months since Japanese release), I thought 'what a heck, I'll try'. Maybe some of you are still running some in-game time trial challanges.

The idea is very simple. If you are currently doing any Time Trial in GT5P (for example your favourite car on your favourite track) and trying to improve your time, just post it here and maybe there will be other people interested in trying it out with you.

The only rules are those in game (of course no shortcuts and wallriding), other than that, let's just enjoy GT5P, because we still have quite few months without full GT5.

This is not AVF TT as such. This thread is here only to keep all those personal challanges in one place

I'll start then. My current mission is to get my Aston Martin as high as possible in TT table on Fuji F using clutch + H-shift. Of course if you want to join me you don't have to use clutch, that's just me.

ReBeL's Personal Challange:
Car - Aston Martin DB9
Track - Fuji F
Additional info - clutch + H-shift, Professional


After 3 short sessions my best time is: 1'54.145; which is 74th in Online Standings.
just managed to get into 1'53s
My new personal best time is: 1'53.823; Ranking position: 57th

If I could get into top 20 I'd be happy chappy

Great idea - something that people can dip in and out of - I like to compare times against others and it just brings the whole hotlapping experience to life.

Good idea Rebel. Will add some longevity to the TT/Hotlaps until GT5 arrives in 2012.
In a few weeks time I'll be off work for about 10 months, so should have plenty of time to have a go.

10 months? That's a long time. I'm off work now (and I'm not very happy about that), that's why I play a lot more than before.

I'm sure there is still room for improvement. Getting better with the clutch and H-shift, with just occasional misgearing problem

It looks like I could have been a little bit overoptimistic about the 'room for improvement' After another 20-30 lap my PB is exactly the same as it was I will try again tomorrow, if there's no improvement, I think I'll have to start next challenge

Just a small update. Tried few times more, but couldn't beat me PB. I won't give up that easy though! I will try again very soon!

My best time was only good enough for 36th place. I will still be trying though as I like that car/track combo a lot.

I think it is time for a new challenge too and this one is tough for me. After about half an hour on the track I managed to do only 235th time

Never, ever, ever in the whole history of GT5P getting into top 100 was so bl**dy hard! After another hour and half I only managed 118th time Unbelievable! I blame being tired, wee pain in the back, global crisis, my missus causing distractions, neighbours and their music, etc

Ranking position: 118th

Had a few days break from my challenges, came back to it today and just after 3 laps managed to get into top 100 with 79th position. 2 laps later and I was at 57th position. After few more laps I decided to call it a day and went on Suzuka 550pp. I should be able to beat that time, as I was up on my ghost on few occasions. I will try again soon.
