I have a Thrustmaster 360 Modena Pro USB steering wheel, and it would be nice if I could use this with GT5, but the game only appears to support specific Logitech hardware.
I would like to confirm that this wheel will definitely not work with the game before I purchase a Logitech DFP (can't justify a G25!)

Yes I did try that. Some of the buttons did allow me to navigate through the menus, but the steering and accelerator/brake did not work.
Ok, a more general question might be, is anyone using a wheel other than those specifically listed in the hardware section of the setup options?

Yes a G25...... First connect you handset as controller 1 then connect the wheel as controller 2 if u get no joy then i think you will be spending some cash.
