Please try and post in the right place. There is a separate Gran Turismo sub forum where this should have been posted. Moving thread.

Polyphony Digital you mean.

Polyphony Digital Inc. is a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc
With the amount of software arms Sony has from various studios i dont think they usually list them all individually but that doesnt mean you wont or indeed will see GT5 at the show.

Were told the game would arrive sooner than 2010, the hype machine has to start rolling at some point and E3 is a major world stage for such announcements in the past.
My guess is based on past events, what the company has done before and taking into account of when the title is expected estimating what stage they should be at regards a launch window and for marketing.

Common thinking is that Japan will get it in time for Xmas 2009 - Europe / US to follow in the Feb or March next year.

Re: Gran Tourismo 5

I see your point but he been right before.
From the post he made it would be march 2010 release.
I wouldn't believe a 2009 release myself

Anyway we'll see at E3 Hopefully.

Peace!

Re: Gran Tourismo 5

Im not one for rumours and jumping up and down.
However the cryptic message does cover alot of areas that make sense.

Heres some of my thoughts....

The recent Sony spokesperson mentioned something about additional platforms and GT5. Personally i dont think this is a non Sony platform.

PSP has not been the success it should have been and UMD has failed as a media format for movies and for games its now superceeded with much reduced memory prices. I dont think they can do much more with the current PSP technology.

I too bought a PSP, well actually an imported USA one many months before the UK release with the idea of excitment of GT in portable form so understand the frustration of a shown product never appearing.

I do believe it makes sense to expand the franchise and have a PS3 version with PSP support. Polophony Digital have said that the PSP game was not shelved and this makes me wonder is a PSP2 going to be announced at E3 with the revelation of GT5 being perhaps one of the first games to show home and portable platform support? PSP is 5 years old this year and it wouldnt suprose me if PSP2 arrives in 2010.

DLC also has to be a MAJOR feature for GT5 it makes sense to have this game pay them continued layers and layers of cash. People seem to forget that this must be one of the most expensive games ever to of been developed with 5 years or more and a development team of over a 100+ at times.

Re: Gran Tourismo 5

By the looks of it there is gonna be two vesrions on the ps3.
One version at a higher cost but you get everything now and all future DLC free.
Second version will be cheaper to buy off the shelf but you will have to pay for DLC in the future.

As for the other version it is more than likeley a PSP version i think.

Also a PSP version could make using a psp or 2 as side mirrors and a rearview mirror a possibility.

If that list is correct it sounds like the "F1" section is going to be something special - probably better than the official F1 game!

Top Gear Test Track!

Hope thats all true but will probably just take with a pinch of salt until we here anything official. I dont think those Gran Turismo boys have ever reached an 'announced' release date on any of their previous games! Wasnt this suppose to be a launch title?
