Question Update won't download?

Trying to download the update and it keeps saying there was an error when download or something like that.

Is there anyway I can download it off the net and install it manually or something...?

Cheers,
Mark

Re: Update won't download?

I think it caches what you`ve already downloaded on the failed attempts, so although the bar starts at 0% each time, it`s actually starting from where it left off. Not sure if you`re wired or wireless, but I had much more luck with it changing to a wired connection.

I'm using a wireless connection at the moment, I will try it with a wired connected tomorow and see if I have any luck.

I,m afraid perseverance is the key here, I have had it take over 50 attempts in the past. I think there is a setting in the network options for type 2 or type 1 network. might be worth trying that. but only a thought. Mike

As long as it's Nat 1 or Nat 2 then that's fine. Nat 3 is restricted access and that could stop the update. If the update fails, then when it does go to the News icon (far left) and click on that. It will then start the update again. As mentioned before, although the Download line starts from the beginning each time, the system caches the previous download, so your not actually starting from the beginning. It will eventually work. Can be a real pain though.

Re: Update won't download?

In GT5 options there is a uPnp setting also which you can change (in the network section). No idea what it does, but might be worth a try.

Re: Update won't download?

What sorted it out for me was changing, firstly, the UPnP type from 2 to 1, and secondly, clearing out the cache.
Both these options are in the Miscallaneous section under Options
