Re: GT5P AVF online races discussion - Part 2

Sorry for late reply guys you should of messaged my PSN account.

Times are going at 12 and 30
Races lasting approx 21mins
Look forward to meeting online as tbh its more fun racing people you like/get on with.

Im racing with the WRX 07, Clio is also popular choices.

Suzuka with 10 laps is a quite mentally/physically challenging track and certainly moreso than the last Fuji 5 lap race.

Also regards cramps or suffering from G25 blisters, damn my thumbs ache. (mmmm maybe internet pictures of dorks wearing racing gloves while playing games really has got a benifit / purpose) Might be worth considering but still i might pass on using a helmet, lol.

Although getting the wife to dress up in overalls and waving a big lollipop in front of me in between races for a quick refreshment might add to the full racing experience but just dont think she will be that excited in such a fantasy or attenting me hand/foot any more than she already does.
Damn it woman a man needs some form of male bonding!!!

Anyways guys its been a long time and well as i found with GT its good to have a break but its also good to be back at it. Look forward to racing...

Ive played soo much with setups and racing in the past two days my G25 has a burning smell coming from it. The motors must be overheating.

Do Free Run practice but you havnt a hope in the GTR, not at this PP level.
Its too heavy to offer a good power/weight ratio.

Id advise the following:
WRX 07
Clio Tuned
Evo Tuned
Honda

WRX is the easiest to drive but getting a setup from it that makes it as fast isnt so easy. This track with this PP of 650 and the ability to select what tyres you want totaly changes the amount of options we normally have had.

What Power, What Weight, What Tyres give the best combination and then for each car. On top of that you then have to nail down the gearing to eek the most from the car youve picked.

GTP should have some setups posted if you want to save time, personally i prefer to do my own and get alot of pleasure doing that and Free Run trials anyways, particulary as alot of the guys their post the best Free Run times also.

Re: GT5P AVF online races discussion - Part 2

How are you guys fairing on the Suzuka 10 lap? I dont appear to be on the same page atm, best lap so far 2:11 in a cilo.
(2:14 in both S2000 and Elise 111R)

I can bang in consistant lap times around the 2:12-2:14 mark for 10 laps and I'm just finishing within the time limit, eg 1 minute behind the leaders

So i just need to find 5 seconds a lap, ouch. Anyone here in the 2:07 - 2:08 range yet?

Could be about later if you guys are.. I'll keep an eye out..

Re: GT5P AVF online races discussion - Part 2

I've started three races now, but people seem to drop out after a few laps when they get dropped. All three times the host has left I'd agree with the comments about the GTR, too slow. A favourite car will soon appear, probably the WRX or the Evo I'd guess.

Hi Fish, sorry I quit just before 9 as noone seemed to be about.
Someone said 12 and 30 (starting times) on the previous page which I think should read 00 and 30 minutes past the hour (as the race is about 22 minutes), certainly you seem to catch some GTPers at those times.

Shout if your about today, had a couple of good races yesterday,

I might jump in for a quick one at 12:00 if anyone fancies it.

@BR - any tips on tuning that STI? mines 6 secs off your pace

Re: GT5P AVF online races discussion - Part 2

Hi,

Was online last night, noticed Bad_Robot was on GT5p for a LOOOONG time!! :-) You put some hours in last night mate!

I attempted the 650pp Pro Suzuka race in my EVO...what a nightmare. I was first on the grid, got a good start, got nudged off and ended up 6th. Think my gearing is wrong in the EVO. I've got it set for acceleration, but its so gutless! Surely the real car can't be THAT bad. Most people were burning past me in Clio's, so I'll use that next time.

What causes the irratic car movements of others? Their movements seem jerky. Is it my internet bandwidth or their's?

How do you guys arrange / raciing with each other online?

AL

Re: GT5P AVF online races discussion - Part 2

Ventured online today for the first time since me and br were doing the rounds on suzuka 650. Well now its the only other online event worth doing...yeah you guessed it fuji 650!!

Took me about an hour to find a car and tuning which I could be competitive with, ended up with the clio and managed to have a few decent races. Few of the gtrp guys were about but all in all not that many good racers on when I was. Will be giving this some more time in the next week. Would be good to see a few avf tags on the grid

I've been doing a bit of this in the EVO Craig... Are you still online?

I'm getting blasted by everything (esp Clio's!) on the pit straight but having some great battles on the twisty bits
