GT5p Racing Pods

OLD NEWS: Merry Christmas to all club members The club is now working so if you havent joined and your name is down in here then please send a join request in home to either me or a sub member so you can be added if your still intrested.
A few things have been put in and messages have been posted so it's working ok, we just need some content so we can use it more, don't forget to check the messages to see whats happening and so we can possibly meet up.
Sub leaders feel free to add what you want and arrange meet ups, bowling, post a TT challenge, online race? or what ever plus any questions then post in here.
OLD NEWS:
Club now open so you can ask for a invite if your on the list and then you will be added, make sure to use the psn tag you will want to play GT5 with and the one you use in home, the main one you probabley use to buy your things on psn with.
Don't forget the items you collect will stay with that tag so it would be advisable if you use the one you want in home and the game for everything as in buying and collecting items, trophies and such like and also make sure you have the same tag listed on the below chart.
You don't want to collect loads of home things and then find out you want to change psn names to play GT5 because of trophies as you will lose everything.
Also remember you don't have to be on everybody's friends list as once your a member you can go to the club when you please and meet the members that way.
If all goes well this will grow over time and be a good place to meet up for some mini games, chat and then play GT5 when it ships plus don't forget other games as well that you want to enjoy with members. As Home grows so will our club but we have to make a small effort to make sure it's fun and a success.
If you feel it's not for you then please feel free to leave and don't forget there are no obligations or rules or any thing daft like that just use it and have fun, it's up to us all now on how it turns out.
OLD NEWS:
Ok thought we could do with a home thread just for GT related stuff like clubs and what content will be added and such like.
All other topics on home should go in the main Home thread but seen as we are lucky enough to get a game specific thread than a Home thread in here solely for GT would be better.
I will be creating a club for other members to use in home that are interested in Gran Turismo and want to get together in Home and talk about GT related stuff also we can use our club house to gather information and items so people have things to do in there like pool tables and other games, pictures and then hopefully loads of GT things.
Anyone is welcome to join as long as your interested in GT it doesn't matter what your skill level is but I would ask people that do join contribute to the club if they can even if it's only posting messages as the success of such a thing will only last if people actually go there and use it with others.
Don't forget this is a club for everybody so people will be able to do what they like and add content as they see fit, it is not a place for me to lay down rules and regulations everybody has equal say and everybodys opinion is valid.
Think of it as a place for GT fans to meet up, share tips, post news, add items and eventually play GT5

I will keep this thread updated with Home news related to GT and of course any of your input will also be added.
Hopefully we can get some action back into these forums like we all used to enjoy. now that GT5p has run out of steam we could use Home to build up a community to be reckoned with when the game is released.
Just post a reply if you would like to join and then I'll send you a invite.

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

Hi Chowy, please add me to the list of GT5 players interested in your idea for Home, not had a chance to download the softwear yet but I read in an other thread that you could set it up so that you could do invites to join in an exclusive game rather like a private lobby, is this correct and if it is, does it work for GT5?

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

Sounds like a good idea Chowy.
It would be good to meet up with other AVF GT nutters in Home before we all proceed into a private lobbied game of GT5.

Count me in if there's space, not played much recently. Don't play online as its not very fair?
So i would be glad to be part of the GT5: Home just for clean races

Well obviously we can't play GT5 yet but at least we can start building our club with adding members and also building our club house up by adding items that people either have/buy or win, plus for posting news and meeting other GT fans.

Hopefully we can get a pool table, arcade machines, chess boards, things like that so when we meet up there is something for us to do.

It will be a slow start but as things get added in Home over time so will our club and by the time GT5 drops we should have a big team lined up with a great club house packed with loads of information and items.

Also as we like to play other games from time to time we could use it to play games that home supports now or in the near future as well, from the looks of things Home will have plenty of things to collect either from with in home or through games so with plenty of members we could have lots of stuff in there for us all to enjoy.

I'll open one up in a week or two after some more things are added to see what the best options are for size of club house and what each one offers, havent really looked yet.

To set it up it obviously costs money (don't worry I'm not after donations ) it's only a small cost but it would be great if people that do join can actually use it rather than let it just stand empty with no activity for months on end buy meeting up and adding interesting news and items after all whats the point in joining a club if we don't use it?

The more we all take part in "our club" the better and more successful it will become and hopefully we get a nice team together like we had on these forums a few months ago, with home it gives us a opportunity to enjoy Gran Turismo together as well as other games.

Thanks.

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

We also need 4 people in total to be sub leaders, the people who would fit this role the most would be someone who would be in home quite a bit and would like to help keep the momentum running within the club as in using it as much as they can, adding items and news, generally someone who really likes home and can see themselves spending more time in there than the average person. Maybe someone who likes to organize game nights or pool competitions between members? Or someone who likes to find all the hidden things in Home to add to our club.

Also they will be able to add people on their own I think so any volunteers?
Again please don't take the role if you wont hardly use home and will never be around as we need members that are committed to help make it a great club and to be successful, of course we don't want stupid commitments or requirements but this will only work and be fun between us all if we ALL contribute a little, It's only going to be as good as WE make it.

At the same time it's for fun and we don't want people having to use it every time their on home.

Thanks.

Yeah you can be a sub leader no problem, it's manly just so somebody else besides me can add people and there might be other things they can do as well I haven't checked yet.

Good to see some interest with home after the slagging it's getting atm
If it all works out it should end up pretty good and a club should be a great bonus fingers crossed.

I'll let home settle down a few weeks and the start one up.

OK chowy, thanks mate.

Well I still haven't been able to connect to home..its been 3 days now, so I booted up my long time friend prologue last night...omg and its the first time i've played it on my (now old) new tv!

OMG with motionflow 100hz and 10bit panel this game looks and plays like never before! I thought just seeing it in 1080 was good enough but how wrong I was. Super smooth now, and colour and black detail in area's which just looked plain black on my old tv.(x2000)

So its fair to say that I enjoyed racing last night as much as I did when prologue first came out!!

As badrobot mentioned the fuji 550pp any combo is great fun and the usual boys were all in attendance. Rudi racer from gtp was on top form and won every race I saw him in....need to spend a bit more time tuning my tank..oh sorry gtr!

Will be racing again today so if any of you old gt faithfulls are about...

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

Hey Chowy, put me down for this too please. I guess we have no idea when GT5 will come out, but i agree with what you said, but the time it does the AVF club should be well established.

Also, fair play/thanks to you for setting up the Club

I am happy to donate some cash to buy the Club House a pool table/chess board/TV/new house when you gets going, because to be honest, i would rather hang out in a club with you AVF guys than spend any more on doing up my personal space of Home. I am not saying this is a huge offer, but i would like to do my bit, as i like social gaming, and while we have our banter on here, i would rather spend time playing games with you guys than others.

Edit - PSN name: FerretBueller

Thought your comments in home's main thread were spot on mate. Would be good to have another level headed member to our club

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

Hi, I would be interested in joining - my play time has been drastically cut over recent months, hopefully I can free up more time in the new year and especially when GT5 finally arrives!

It's been so long I have forgotten my PSN ID, I think it's something like AVF_EdgeGT - will edit later when I get home (pun not intentional)

Re: Gran Turismo 5: Home

WOW 20 potential members already, Looks like people do like home after all

Hopefully this will work out well if people are interested in the long term view of what our club could become and what home could offer us by the time GT5 ships.

If all goes well and Sony really get behind home than we will have a very good club house with plenty of things in there ready to play GT5 with the other club members.

Thanks.

Thats the thing with TV's theres always a better one around the corner usually a new model ever 3 months now

26, 36, 8, 22, 41, 4 just getting practice in for my new TV.
