Wheel + Unit

Been looking around for days trying to work out what wheel to get for PS3 and PC, (GT5, GRID, DIRT ect) I know theres the G25 but at £130 its alittle much although i am tempted.

So i have looked at the
Logitech Driving Force EX

This is only around £20-£30 and heard quite good reviews for it, but is 200degrees enough for GT5? With G25 and Logitech Driving Force GT being 900.

So that brings me to the
Logitech Driving Force GT

This is around £60-£70 with the gear stick and 900degrees.

Logitech Driving Force Pro

This is around £40-£50 and 900degrees.

Both the GT and PRO are right hand gears which isnt to much of a problem, shame they cant be switched!

So there the 3 am looking at atm, UNLESS the G25 drops when G27 is out lol

NOW TO SEATS.

Playseats Evolution White

On there site its £248.00 yeah! iknow lol

GameRacer™ Pro Driving

On there site its £219.00 yeah! iknow lol

Wheelstand Pro

Around £95

===================================

Wheelstand Pro + LDFP = around £140

Playseat EVO + LDFP = around £300

===================================

Any help would be great.

Re: Wheel + Unit

TBH if you're not sure about the expense of a G25 then a DFGT is the next best thing definitely. I've got a DFGT and just updated to a G25 due to the Play.com offer. Although the G25 is a better wheel for the money the DFGT can't be beat. If you got a DFGT you wouldn't be disappointed. A seat? take a look here: - BLACK ALCANTARA PLAYSEAT - XBOX, PLAYSTATION, NINTENDO on eBay (end time 06-Oct-09 11:27:38 BST)

It's the original Playseat and is still a good product. It's what I use.

A DFGT can be had for £65 so it works out at £240 for both. Tempting.

VERY tempting mate nice one

The seat is excellent for the price, i notice the pedal mount is alittle different to the newer models, hows this for fitting the Logitech pedals too?

Thanks

The pedals fit fantastic. So does the wheel. I think I've got a picture somewhere or a video, I'll have a look,

If ur gonna be splashing out quite heavily on a seat then why not just go for a G25 and make the most of it?, sure another £99 deal will pop up somewhere. (i grabbed one pic with wheelstand in sig.) It's just lovely with the proper gears and clutch
Tempted? lol

Re: Wheel + Unit

Am always tempted, tbh i think am going to have to get the Wheelstand pro.

I have just spent about 2hours moving my room around looking for away to get a playseat in here, (my room is about the same as yours looking at the pic) and its not going to work gutted. So maybe a G25 and a Wheelstand Pro is the option am going to take. Come to around £200.

Exactly what i paid, it's a bargain for that sort of money.
Yeah i got wheelstand for easyness and it's superb. really solid very adjustable and when G25 is on id guess it all weighs 20kgs or so. Easy to fold down and tuck away. Go for it you wont regret it. Especially since i seen u have good PC, the PC sims are just uncanny and miles better than GT5P. Hope full GT5 with proper G25 support is a bit more tweakable.

Re: Wheel + Unit

Yeah, this was another thing, i will be using the wheel for games on the pc, like grid, and some sims, rFactor being 1 of them i think? I will playing these on my TV via HDMI, so the wheels always facing the TV and not having to flick between monitor and TV, although with the Wheelstand and my desk i think i could get the stand to fit great and play on the monitor? What you think by looking at the desk pictures?

Re: Wheel + Unit

Hi guys, i got the G25 today, only had a 10min go on it as i just got in from work but tested GT Pro and its great, 1 thing though, can i not turn down or off the force feedback? Am really trying to fight the wheels and when am going to crash into the wall its automaticly turns me away, its pretty anoying.

I tried it on F1 PS3 and with force feedback on it was the same but nowere near as bad and with force feedback turned off it was like i was in control lol

Dont get me wrong i love the feedback from going over pumps ect and want that on, its just when it turns me away from a wall :? is this a robot lol tried loads of settings on GT but cant turn it off.

Re: Wheel + Unit

I use the wheel stand pro and a Ikea Poang Chair and the Driving force wheel.
The only down side of this is the size of the foot pedel base it's a bit narrow when playing over long periods and for this I would love to upgrade to a G25.

The chair is comfy oh so comfy and you can get it in various colours.
