Logitech G27

After just recently purchasing a G25 & being very happy with it, I won't be rushing out to buy one of these but would definitely be an update some time down the line. Anyway images and details have been released so it seem that 4 extra programmable buttons on the wheel, plus a LED gear indicator are the two noticeable differences so far between it & the G25.

It's now listed on the official Logitech website with a RRP of €350. What will the actual street price be though?

I would hazard a guess at £199.00 pricey for a few extra buttons and flashing lights imo

The shift lights are pretty pointless IMO, far too low down on the wheel, you don't look at the wheel when driving

If I was in the market for a wheel I'd get the G25 at a bargain price

Yeah, esp when you can pick it up for £125 now. I'm very close to ordering one, just waiting for my bank balance to fall into line.

I've also been looking at the wheelstand pro or a DIY effort which will be a lot cheaper.

Anyone got any good DIY plans or instructions?

I just bought a G25 from here last week for £75 - mint condition just needed a dust down. I also bought the WSP £99 inc delivery - spent a good hour setting it up mind but i took 20+ seconds off my CM2 desert run so impressed totally

Can't wait for GT and Shift

Nice, how's the wheelstand pro, do you find it sturdy and solid?

Re: Logitech G27

The WSP you need to play around with the bolts to get it spot on tight then there is no wobble left ot right and definatley no 'pedal/foot' movement forwards. The steering wheel i like it to move forward back i don't like it rigid. But if you want it tight tight then as long as you have the strength to tighten it - and loosen it then it wont move at all.

Only niggly thing is the metal tube is hollow so if you overtighten the bolt that stops the wheel rotating up and down it compacts under the pressure. I might play with that at a later date if it gets loose, but up to now no complaints.

Little heads up if you dont already know Play are doing the G25 for £99.99

Play.com (UK) : Logitech G25 Racing Wheel (Get An Extra £100 Off with Voucher Code: LOGG25) : Computing - Free Delivery

Seems like a cracking deal for a brand new wheel if you ask me, or you can always pay the extra and get the G27

Actually, exactly the price of a slim ShopTo.Net - PS3 Slim 120GB - Sony Playstation 3 (PS3)

Lets see, a G27, or a G25 and a PS3 slim... Hmm

Re: Logitech G27

Liked the the G25 & G27 comparison reviews from insidesimracing. There doesn't seem much point in going for the G27 in my mind. The extra buttons are useful I guess, but the sound of the G25 doesn't bother me much, the gear shifer lights are pointless as i'm always looking at the on screen lights and the other improvements don't seem that beneficial either.

I'm sticking with my G25.

Good comparison review of G25 and G27 here:

SimHQ.com - Technology Zone - Review: Logitech G27 Racing Controller

Looks like the G27 is a bit better but from what I can see, nowhere near better enough to justify the extra cost given the £99 Play deal this weekend.

I've ordered a G25 from play on the deal

Re: Logitech G27

I've no idea how Logitech can warrant putting a £329.99 price tag on the G27. The differences (imho) are minor, others superfluous and like others have said, I'd rather buy a nice new shiny G25 from Play.com and plug it into the nice new matt PS3 Slim I purchased with the leftover cash.
