What's the betting they cancel the orders at that price....seems like they've done it before and it seems to be everyone's fear over on HUKD, oh well, fingers crossed!

They say RRP is 40 (and currently doing for 35). Yet Play says its RRP is 50.

Is it me or has Play.com fallen off the barrel recently? I remember a time when I was ordering multiple items a month because they were always the cheapest. It now seems they are going by name and presuming people believe they are the cheapest e-retailer, haven't ordered from them in months!

Ashley.

They still seem fairly cheap and come out top trumps for a lot of items if you price match them, but I do know what you mean. The huge saving that we all once experienced from play.com seem to have dried up and they are pricing at around the same price as the competition..... I guess the recession has been hard on people.....

Oh and I got my GT5 pre-order in ^___^

Yep seems like shopto.net have taken their place for me. But with amazon making such mistakes might be amazon who'll be my main retailer :D

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

I just happened to be browsing Amazon the other night and saw that too! Needless to say I hit the pre-order button faster than a fast thing! Does anyone know if it's going to stick or not? It seems too good to be true!

I'd have thought we'd be fine with the preorder, I got Mario Kart Wii for £15 from a similar preorder situation on amazon and that came through fine...

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

I saw this pre-order when it was first on Hotdeals but didn't bother ordering as in the past when I've gone for one of these cheap pre-orders they have emailed me a week or so later saying that they had made a mistake

The last time it happened was for a mini golf game complete with Motion Plus for the Wii, it was listed for around £17, they emailed me a couple of weeks later saying that it should be £35

Good luck to those that did order

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

It's up to 39.99 now, but still showing in the basket as £17.59, so fingers crossed it'll be fine! But we've still got a few months for them to try and worm their way out of it. Does anyone know why this sort of thing happens? The price is very close to the prologue price, but not exactly, so I wouldn't have thought someone had got them mixed up......?

Ashley.
I almost agree, they're sometimes high. You have to benchmark them against HMV and Amazon - amazon are consistently higher on prices, except now and then when they decide to under-cut everyone by 10 percent - good for us.

Whereas PLAY I find are generally low on most games, items etc, and in a rare while they are miles cheaper; for instance they did Little Big Planet for under £20 before anyone else from what I remember. More recently though the Hot Deals are quite poor - Chronicals of Riddick being the only half decent game. You're right though, I got Haze and Unreal Tourn II for £10 each.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

I was just about to pre-order GT PSP when I read this which states at the bottom that europe will be getting a free copy of GT PSP with pre orders of GT5.

I imagine they have got it wrong as nowhere else seems to mention this, or does anyone know any different?

The free copy of GT PSP for registed Go owners has been well reported, I can't think the free copy with a GT5 pre order can be right though

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

Ive been mixing it around lately and found th ebest deal at HMV for NFS Shift, but all in all i keep an eye on the discount code websites to give out codes, sometimes they work sometimes they dont, majority of the time they do.

Hence not pre-ordering GT5 till the week before

Nice find

I presume they're doing this to entice PS3 owners into buying a PSP if they haven't already got one? In any case I'm cancelling my PSP order now.

I wouldn't assume that article was correct as I doubt it is, I was just posting it to see if anyone else knew any more details.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Pre-Order

i think it may have been lost in translation somewhere cause i was watching two live blogs and at same time:-
1 said that people who buy a pspgo and register it within the first week will be entitled to a free download of psp gt
then the other said people who pre-order ps3 gt5 will get a free download of pspgt on pspgo
but it was only on one blog that said this, no where else, i think the proper thing to come out of the expo was that if you buy a new pspgo in the first 7-10days of its realese and register it then you will get free code to download psp gt for youre psp go

I contacted Shopto relating to the Pre order GT5 & get a free GT PSP & they said they know nothing about it & aren't aware of it being specific to any other retailer.
They did however confirm the register PSP Go & get a free GT PSP.
