Bought from PSN,cannot play offline..

Never even knew this was the case otherwise i would have bought the blu ray version! Have emailed sony in the hope of a refund so i can do just that but i am not optimistic.I only plug the internet cable in when i want to check store updates etc.

Not being able to play unles i am connected to the internet is ridiculous.

Got an email back from sony,basically they say tough luck,they refuse the refund.Who even reads the bloody terms and conditions anyway?

Moving house soon and will not have internet access for a long while so basically i cannot play a game i spent £20 on.That will teach me to be lazy and download games instead of getting off my ass and going to town.

So the downloaded version is not the same as the store bought version? Thats sounds like false advertising - although I guess reading the T&C might shed some light on that. It might be worth trying to read the T&C and seeing exactly what it says in reference to offline play?

So far I only ever play offline, as I cannot get my game to update to enable online play - even though I am able to download other programs

I would have a CAREFULL read of the T&C, Sony might be in breach of the Sale of Goods Act i.e item not fit for purchase or something like that.

Although knowing Sony this is probably not likely, good luck to you though.

Yeah sure that's not very good but why not just leave it plugged in then?
Im guessing u cant for whatever reason but seems like u need to sort something permenent out, leave it plugged in or sort out wireless.

Noob question. Not a gamer - this is for my son. If I get the GT5 prologue game disc, can it be played without the PS3 connected to the internet? Do you have to log into PSN to play the game from the disc? Can the game be played offline with the disc inside the PS3? Thanks!

Yeah the disc based game will work fine offline and no need to sign into PSN, though you may want to update the game to the latest Spec 3 version as you get a few extra cars & background music tracks.
