I take it your trying it with GT5P. Could you be a little bit more specific?
Is it doing it on straights only... trying to move left and right (oscilation) while your driving in a straight line.

Re: Driving Force GT

It's called oscillation. It's when you haven't got the wheel perfectly straight and the motors are slightly engaged trying to pull it left to right. Try to hold the wheel perfectly straight... if you think it's bad though take it back and get it swapped or Logitech as they have a 2 year no quibble new replacement guarantee.

Yeah the DFGT works perfectly with GT4 on a PS2. Just select it as a DFPro in the options. You'll have to increase the force feedback strength to maximum to get it to feel good. I've used it a lot on GT4. Racing the Nordschleiffe and Tsukuba.

Re: Driving Force GT

They are just normal buttons, on a pad they are the buttons you press when you push down on the analogue sticks.

sorry to bring this topic back.

I have jap Ps3 and jap version of Gt4. I have tried to used my DFGT in the game follwoing your advice but it seems to respond only in the "Options" screen. And the top option where you actually activate the wheel usage I guess is grayed so I cant do anything here.

When I go back to the Main screen, the wheel dont respond anymore (any commands) and I can only use the pad
what am I doing wrong

When you first load GT4 from the menu screen. Turn off your DS3 controller first and use the DFGT to select the PS2 Format Disc. Press X to load the game and press nothing else while it loads. When it pops up with the Press PS Button, do nothing, DO NOT PRESS THE PS BUTTON ON YOUR DFGT. Once the intro starts press X. Your DFGT will now work fine.

Re: Driving Force GT

O circle only can be used from the wheel to load the game at the XMB screen, X has no effect.then the horn central button is blipping, the Press PS button message comes , i leave the intro loading and when I try to confirm either with O circle or any other buttons, nothing happens

I am gutted

Re: Driving Force GT

dont worry madmurdock
i will give GT4 a miss and wait for GT5 to arrive in few months time for us in Asia

what a a pain by the way to play racing games with a pad when you enjoyed it with a decent wheel

and i envy you guys single or with a games friendly wife who let you have a proper racing seat

Right. have your wheel plugged in. Load the game using the pad or wheel button. When the game loads, use the pad and go to Gran Turismo mode. When on the main page. Leave your wheel plugged into the mains power, but unplug the usb cable from the PS3. Leave a few seconds and then plug back in. This works for me. Not first time every time tho, but it definitely works. Once you plug the usb cable back in the wheel shoulld spin left and right to calibrate. Once it's done the calibration try the pad and it should work. Repeat until it does. Let me know how you get on.
