Bose Acoustimass issue?

Hi, hope you are well.

Recently bought a Bose Acoustimass 15 MkII (i think thats whats its called) 5 dual speakers and the bass box. Now the question is, the speakers all run through the bass box via rca connectors, would i not get a better sound if i ran all the speakers straight to my onkyo tx-sr605 and let that do the surround sound processing? Obviously i would still have to run the bass speaker through the bose system.

Hope you understand the jumbled question.

Thanks in advance.

Dominic

Re: Bose Acoustimass issue?

Understand, and no, you can't. One of the limitations (if that's the right word) of the Bose Acoustimass system is that the crossover (i.e. the separation of low frequency - for the "sub" and high frequency - for the satellites) HAS to be done by the Bose circuitry in the bass box. The signal that has to be fed to all of the various speakers for it all to work according to Bose design has to be created by Bose processing.
