so i bought those alli weight loss pills...do they work?

do they actually work?
I have been taking them for a week now and have not noticed anything different. I weigh the same. I have followed the instructions on how and when to take them.

There havent been any diet related side effects that the pill is supposed to give either (toilet stuff) and I feel exactly the same as before. I dont have the recommended bmi for their use as I'm below this but still decided to try them anyway as I wanted to get rid of about a stone.
I take them before a meal and 3 times a day. I stopped eating anything too fatty and dont usually exceed 15g of fat per meal like you're supposed to with the pill.
I have also added in daily exercise to my life since taking them. I use the exercise bike for 15-20 min every day.

But I havent had anything different. I mean even though its probably good there havent been any diet related side effects with the pill, at least that would be a sign that they are working?

Is it too soon to say or something and you only start noticing it after a month?

Ouch, I wouldn't put that crap anywhere near my body mate.

What's wrong with an apple, bannana and a good stoll in the park?

You need to read the small print:

You're lucky that they aren't affecting your bowel functions, normally people take two pairs of jeans with them, if they dare leave their house, just in case they soil a pair. It really leaves you with little control or warning...

I strongly advise against them, you can healthily lose 2lbs a week by sorting your diet out.

A change of diet (note "change of" and not "go on a") and exercise is all you need. Stick the pills in the bin

If you do not eat any fat these pills will do nothing.
Minimal fat intake will result in little benefit from these pills.
A large intake of fat in your diet, be careful, always be aware of the location of the nearest toilet!!

As the fat breaks down it has to leave the body, by any opening in the body....

Re: so i bought those alli weight loss pills...do they work?

There no magic way to lose weight, a pill should be used as part of a diet lifestyle change. excercise and eating correctly with good balance is the best way forward.

On calorie deficit the problem many people face when trying to lose fat is that their results seem to stall after they've tried to restrict calories for too long. Restricting calories for too long causes your body to fight back and reduce your metabolic rate. This is a simple survival tactic as your body thinks a possible famine is on the way so it needs to hold on to your body fat and start conserving calories.

To overcome this effect and keep your fat loss efforts on track, you need to fool your body into thinking that food is abundant again, so it can elevate your metabolic rate once again.
This all has to do with manipulating levels of the hormone leptin in your body by strategically overeating at certain times and by shifting carbohydrate intake throughout the week.

So when i needed to lose weight i did 6 days calorie deficit and then one day of a good feed up( not junk food and not mega healthy either) I lost 3 stone easy and its never gone back on.

However we are all different so results may vary but Pills are a joke and im not convinced to there long term safty.

Well yeah, I didn't want to go into full detail but the best way is to eat well and exercise accordingly, looking at BMR (Basal metabolic rate) etc and planning out diet and exercise according to the persons fitness, weight and other points.

These pills are never really a great idea and many Dr's have strong views against them.

A calorie deficit is the way that fat is lost though changing your diet to cause it is not the only way to do this, restricting calories will not cause your body to enter starvation mode to hold the fat, that is only if you are going about things the wrong way, there's a lot to take into consideration, I avoided detail cause the OP never asked for any information on dieting/exercise in relation to weight loss.

Re: so i bought those alli weight loss pills...do they work?

i just want to get rid of the flab off my stomach really and at the same time lose a bit of weight. I weigh 168.4lbs (about 12stone) and im 30 and 5ft 9.
I'm doing cardio by using the exercise bike. Any tips on using exercise bikes? How long should I use them for and for how much intensity? I find if I set it at a setting of 4 out of 8, I can use it for about 5 minutes at a good pace before my legs really start to ache lol.

Any kind of cardio should be done to a level of comfort, do times and intensities which feel comfortable to you, its always best to start out lower than you can do then work up, your body will condition itself and your fitness will increase, you don't want to overdo it.
