Katie and Peter have announced they are splitting up. I was shocked when I heard this as I always believed that their strong love for each other could overcome any obstacle. But I couldn't help but s****** (an unbelievable bit of censorship by avforums here) just a little when I heard that they've asked the media to "respect their privacy".

You couldn't make it up.

Incidentally, the Oxford English Dictionary defines the word s****** thus:

Lol I got hit with that censor earlier too lol is a bit of a nonsense when these clowns (all of them 'celebrities') hawk themselves to the media and then expect suddenly to not have that attention when they don't want it... i watched their programme once as the gf wanted to...worst pile of crap ever! and i saw that some newspaper (mirror?) was sued by them for saying something along the lines of them being bad parents...they are?! saw peter trying to talk to his little kid (to tell him off) who i dont know his age but didnt look any older than about 3 or 4 and was expecting him to understand everything? dont talk to little kids like that just give them a belt and they will soon learn its the wrong thing to do!

That seems to be the case. Couple of weeks back I was bored flicking channels and I think its prolly Jonathan Ross show I saw them being interviewed, she embarrased and talked down to him continually and I just wondered how they can do that in public and how does he stay so calm.

I've never really understood either of them's popularity, as with Jade they always stuck me as having little to offer the world. Can't say I blame Pete if he has insticated the divorce as has been said she does seem to effectively emasculate him in public something I've noticed in a lot of women who become more successfull than their other half.

I think it's just a shame so many girls in this country see her as a role model, they've more chance statistically of winning the lottery than they have becoming the next Jordan / Katie Price.

Did anyone see "Newsnight" last night? Jeremy Paxman mentioned their divorce, being on the front cover of one of the tabloids, but said:

"(Contempt written all over his face, as he says): And finally, on the Daily Mail, Peter Andre and whats-her-face are getting divorced. (Pauses for a few seconds, and responds, in a glumly sardonic fashion...) Says it all really!"
