Working at Royal Mail

This thread is sub-one to original thread:

Unemployed, lost, worried

I asked the question below on the original post but thought it may get lost with all the other replies on the actual topic hence this separate thread.

Just want to know if any RM employees can give me any clues on what they are like to work for?

If all goes well and according to the handbook for Royal Mail Agency workers I would be based at the large sorting office here within the Letters brand.

Could use some insight into that area also.

Thanks.

Avon/beterware/cleaneeasy, etc is a con, you only get paid if people buy the overpriced products you can get at tesco for half the price.

Re: Working at Royal Mail

I took voluntary redundancy nearly 3 years ago. Every morning I get ready to go to work I regret it.
It will depend on where you work ,as all areas seem to be slightly different, even on an office to office basis can make a difference.

Do you mind me asking what agency ??Manpower?
When I left RM I worked for them via Manpower. Money was paid every week.Never had any problems with wages or overtime being paid etc.

Re: Working at Royal Mail

Worked for RM for about a year once, one of the better jobs I have had and your basically left on your own to get on with your work with nobody nagging you once you have left the sorting office.

That sounds right up my street, nothing worse than constantly been scrutinized like in my last job even tho had been there a long time and they treated employees like children!
