Monkey Forest

Anyone been to Monkey forest? HOME - Welcome to Monkey Forest

Looks ok but have concerns about there not being enough to do for a day out.

I remember when there used to be monkeys at the Safari Park and they used to try to dismantle the car, do these monkeys not try and dismantle the visitors who don't have a car as protection?

Hi,

I took the kids a couple of years ago. It's really good as you can literally stand touching distance from the monkeys, which there are hundreds of. I did get in one of the monkey's face when taking a photo, he jumped at me and i ran off screaming like a girl. Monkey in question then started to try and attack anyone that came within a few meters, but scarpered when the warden arrived (must have knew who the warden was )

I would say it is good for about 3 hours or so if you have a picnic. There a couple of other 'educational' type things to look at,such as a rolling video about the monkeys, but they're short lived. My kids and i where primarily very impressed by being right next to the monkeys, but the novelty did wear off after a short time as it is literally just the same breed of monkey.

Overall i would reccomend to visit, just for they experience, and you could spend a while there if you where into observing animal behaviour.

Re: Monkey Forest

Thanks AJUK, sound like it's worth a visit. I'd have no problem sitting there for ages observing their behaviour, it's the rest of the mob that have to be constantly on the go. Was looking at going this Sunday but the weather looks to be on a downer.
