Thanks: Gave 43, Got 72 | LoveFilm lost disk!
A disk I posted back on the 2nd April is still not showing as back with them and a disk I posted yesterday morning has already been booked back in and the next film is currently being dispatched.
I started to fill out a problem report and they ask where you posted the disk, post box / post office, collection point (eg post tray in work) or other.
The truth is collection point (eg post tray in work), but I have a feeling if I say this they will say it's been nicked and make me pay for the disk.
Any experiences with this?
Thanks.

Not good news for you i'm afraid, ultimately, they will require proof of postage, without this they will indeed charge you for the disk.

I would just tell them it was posted in a post box. They lose discs all the time, and sometimes they don't get them back for up to 2 weeks. I cancelled my subs with them when they became unreliable.

Of course nobody does until.... they are in your shoes and find out the hard way. I had a similar experience with Boomerang where the disk went walkabout. Nowadays, I always send them with proof to cover myself.

I've posted loads back from work with the post tray and never had a problem before. There is a chance some toerag in the office stole it, but it's more likely the post office have lost it IMHO.
I've filled out the form and will wait and see what happens... All they have said so far is a standard response, thanks for letting them know I have return the disk they will update my rental list and send out the next film...

I never do either. No problems yet. One was alegedy "lost" in the post a while ago. I emailed them and they just sent me the next one anyway. Maybe you will be lucky.

May have just got delayed in the system, have to admit I've been a member with them for years and I can't recall them ever not receiving a disc. I remember once I never received a film they sent and I had to fill out a form for Royal Mail to say I didn't receive it I guess so they can claim on Royal Mail.
I don't bother with proof of postage myself it's would be far to tedious, given they are forever trying to recruit new members with free rental I doubt they would try and charge you for the film let's face it it's better for them to write of the cost than potentially lose you as a member I would say.

They lost my disc once when I returned it. I filled out the form saying I'd posted it back and they never said anything else after that just sent me my next disc out.

They usually ask for your assistance in getting compo from the post office or they will charge for the disc.
The help usually involves filling out a form they send you from the post office which asks when and where did you post it.All post boxes have a number on them for identification.
I have had an account with love film for 14 months and have had around 150 films, one got lost from them to me and one from me to them(not bad really).

I've had two go missing en route to me and both times just filled in the Royal Mail form that they send you and everything is fine. In the Lovefilm T&Cs it is a requirement to comply with any requests from Royal Mail.
Not had any missing going back but I always get proof of postage so I guess the first time I don't ......

As has been said, I'm not going to go to the post office every time I want to send a film back just to get the proof I've posted it. This totally takes away the easiness of the whole process which makes it a great service.
To be honest if they are going to charge me for the disk and the fact that the Royal Mail are always losing post (I guess I've been lucky up to now) I'd rather cancel the subs and go to Blockbusters whenever I want a film as that won't take any longer than queuing up in the post office to get the POP.
Fingers crossed I'll hear no more.

Looks like this all depends on who you happen to speak to at the time. It was Lovefilm I dealt with previously and not Boomerang as I thought.
They demanded proof of postage and this went on for 2 weeks... Just reading old emails and it got to the stage where they finally caved in and started sending disks once again.
They insisted that I get proof in future |
