hi folks,

sorry to trouble you but could do with some serious advice

long story short:

sold house last year through national known estate agents

had trouble with hip...me and my solicitors saying money was paid to hip provider on completion...their side denying all knowledge of recieving funds...have told my solicitor to deal with it and not to trouble me

got call from bloody debt collection agency today demanding payment..stated that they got my details from my bloody estate agent

not best happy as you can imagine.

have my estate agent broken the law regading data protection act?

they could've got it out of the estate agents by lying? Worse things have happened with debt collectors.

There are bigger issues here though....

granted...just put a rocket up my brief who has had a sudden attack of the squeaky bum times...but i'm bloody furious with my estate agent...no matter who the debt collector said he was....i just don't think they should have given my details out like that
