Read this shocking, yet uncommon story:

I predict the following knee jerk, witch hunt, waste of time, dodging the real issues, daily mail ranting within the next 48 hours.

1.) Violent films, video games and music to be censored/banned.

2.) Campaigns from tabloids and band wagon jumping no name MP's.

3.) A lobby group will be formed and some sort of rally or charity record released.

4.) A complete media circus and public feeding frenzy.

I also predict the following which you won't see:

1.) Any attempt by government to try and deal with the real issues.

2.) Any real justice.

3.) This thread being hijacked by the usual offenders and prematurely being closed (and I don't hold the mods accountable for this).

If the child in ICU recovers this will fade away. If the poor child dies I think we'll see the knee jerk reaction that is typical of the tabloids.
But this is a rare occurence. Young kid on young kid ABH is rare but I think it will become more common.

There is a report in todays Times about the two boys having been in the care of Social Services at the time of the assault and that they may have been reported to the Police seven days prior to the current attack for an earlier assault on another boy. That was not followed up by the Police.

Nice description of the "thick-set, heavily tattooed foster parent" in the Times. The kids had only been in his care for three weeks (if the news reports are to be believed), the media are already setting him up as a standard issue chav parent scapegoat.
