I'd be ashamed too, for not having got off my backside to make sure that didn't happen (were I a labour voter showing outrage after the fact it has happened).

Peter Hain is a good man....however to make headline news of an election where there were less than 2000 votes cast is somewhat ridiculous.

The BNP are mindless filth. Thank God the educated (and I mean middle) classes hold sway over the main body of power in the UK.

The problem is that they keep picking up little seats here and there, and a place on the london assembly

its like a cancer slowly spreading

If people weren`t so disconcerted with labour and the conservatives perhaps people wouldnt vote for the parties like the BNP.

Nonetheless you still have to be a Neanderthal to vote for them. There are other alternatives if you are disenchanted with the two main parties, even 'no vote' would be a better option.

I caught some of a documentary on BNP Wives the other night. One lot were campaigning against a Mosque being built in their town and to people that had the audacity to disagree them, their well reasoned argument against the Mosque was "You'll soon complain when they all go round raping your wives and daughters"!!!!!!

Swanley if you know the area takes the overspill of chavs from Dartford which consistantly shows up in the top 10 chav towns of England, it is infested with them.

Re: Give a Chav a vote ....

All the recent news regarding foreign workers being employed in the UK leaving Brits out of work, it's little wonder that the BNP are gaining footholds in certain areas in this country.

I don't believe that these people who have voted for the BNP this time around are usually BNP voters, but it's their only way to show displeasure with Labour and the Conservatives who are not addressing their fears and concerns.
Remember that the working classes traditionally had Labour to speak up for them and to fight their corner but now they find that they have no party that will do so anymore! Obviously the BNP are going to use this sense of isolation for their own gains.

Personally I find the title for this thread to be a perfect example of how some sections of the poorer working classes are treated appallingly and are simply abused!

Blame the major parties for allowing the continuing spread of far right politics in this country. Not the poorer sections of OUR society!

I do not apply the term Chav to everyone who is on a low income, I know there are alot of people out there that struggle but do there best to get by week on week, work hard and try hard to live a respectable life. I respect anyone who gets of there ass and trys to make the best of there situation, be it cleaning an office or running a coperation.

But there is also a die hard percentage of the population who are professionally unemployed, who are proud that they dont work and of there ignorance and certain areas of Kent have huge concentrations of them. I know Swanley very well and the area in question and its not unfair imo to call them Chavs as most are.

Point taken. But as a previous poster has mentioned what's this thread got to do with "Chavs!" The unskilled uneducated tracksuit & baseball cap combo wearing sections don't get out of bed till midday and they sure don't vote!

The people who are voting for the BNP are the workers who find that they have been replaced at work by an Italian or Pole.

Actually I think they do, and it appears the BNP is finding a way to motivate them, probably implying if they kick out the "immigrants" there will be more free housing and benefits for them. They are becoming more slick and professional at hiding there bigotry and hatred.

The BNP would have my vote for this reason alone. Why shouldn't UK citizens be priority over foreigners in every aspect? The point being, they should.

Re: Give a Chav a vote ....

If the bnp where to sort out some of there more extremist members they would be a better party. Theres NOTHING WRONG with a party that wants to put british people first!!!

Just by being there they keep a small voice that stops labour completly selling us out to imigrants and the like.

They are getting more clever as well, there recent campign in grays was based on sarahs law and dealing with anti social behavoiur. So on the last one attacking the "CHAVS" that people seem to think vote for them.

Would i want them in charge of the uk? at this moment deffently not but i wouldent want them gone either.

I have voted for them in the local election, my reason is simple like many in my town im sick of the growing african comunity getting everything. Most where given vast sums of money to help by a house of set up a business and get priority on council housing (all proven).

In the goverment election i will vote conservitive, yes they may not be any better but labour have simply had to long and sold us out way to much.

Does this make me a racist? NO it makes me british and i do have friends who are black and asian who work dam hard and are also anoyed by how the uk is going now.

Rant over.

Some of their satments i may see common ground however like most groups its been highjacked by racists who push their own agenda.

You have your vote so be it.

Thought this once great country stood up for things like free speech?
Isn't that my free speech? I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but it doesn't stop me from expressing my opinion, As others have done to the opposite.

It just so happens that I'm not racist but if others want to vote for that sort of thing it is their right

Re: Give a Chav a vote ....

I think that the main party's are more concerned with corporations, foreign affairs and bowing down to the perceived liberalism of the EU and people are becoming disillusioned with who they are, and what they represent!

Does it matter who is in power be they Tory or Labour?

Like the late great Bill Hicks (No relation ) said

YouTube - Bill Hicks Puppet Show - "Politics in America"

But seriously though we are experiencing as close to a one party system as can be in a democracy, so radical right wing politics have become more appealing to the marginalised.

Like Germany in the early 1930's, we are reaping what we have sowed!
