2% or 98% ?

MIND GAME

2% or 98%

This is strange...can you figure it out?

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD!

* Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow..

* There's no trick or surprise.

* Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can!

* Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them . really.

* Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

Think of a number from 1 to 10

Multiply that number by 9

If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together

Now subtract 5

Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with

(example: 1=a, 2=B, 3=c,etc.)

Think of a country that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter of the name of that country

Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter in the name of that animal

Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter

Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange ?

I told you this was FREAKY!!

If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise.

Re: 2% or 98% ?

No matter what number you think of, when you multiply it up and add the digits together, they always come to 9. That means you always get the letter D, and since there aren't many countries beginning with D, animals beginning with K, or fruits beginning with O, most people will naturally think of those answers...do I win a prize for ruining it Rob?

Re: 2% or 98% ?

if people are wondering why the answers are always so similar, then,...

When you multiply the number between 1 and 10 by 9, the resulting 2 digit number always adds up to 9, and hence with -5 hence always end up with D.

So many people are going to select Denmark

and there aren't many animals that snap to mind that begin with K, so pick Kangaroo

Re: 2% or 98% ?

i don't think you can get any country that doesn't start with a d.

any number between 1-10 * 9, when you add the digits together gives you 9

1*9 = 9
2*9 = 18, 1+8 = 9
3*9 = 27 , 2+7 = 9
...
9*9 = 81, 8+1 = 9
10*9 = 90, 9+0 = 9

then take 5 from that gives you 4, which had to be the letter D.

so how did some of you get countries that begin with letters apart from D? i reckon you all need to take maths class again..

if the number is a two digit number after multiplying by 9 you have to add them together..so your maths are fine, it's your instruction following that is the problem..
