Paypal Payment Reviewed???

Sold something on here yesterday and posted it yesterday after getting payment through paypal, now I have just got an e-mail from paypal saying that I cannot spend the money and it has been taken back from my account , they have asked me for proof of postage which I have sent on.

It said at the bottom

complete. If you've already posted the item, please log in and let us know
where you posted it.
Is it normal for paypal to do something like this as its the 1st time its happened to me.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

I presume there is an issue with the buyers account and they are concerned the payment maybe fraudulent.

Thats what I thought, either that or he had made a claim against me but thought it was a bit early for that.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

simple answer - do not accept paypal

i did so a while ago and have no regrets - especially now that they can withhold payment to your account until you receive positive feedback

in my view stop using Paypal - they are corrupt as being part of fleabay!!

Could be a simple miss-understanding, been using paypal for a while with no problems.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

I despise Paypal. I, and many of my friends, have had nothing but problems with them since their inception.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

Well if I loose out this time then I probably won't use them again, if I do use them after loosing out it will be with verified addresses only and don't see how the same thing could happen again if I follow the rules.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

To confirm, I do believe this is an honest problem and the buyer is looking to sort the issue with Paypal. I'm confident this is the truth, as scammers normally disappear once they have the cash.

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

I sent some money from my account to my girlfriends account and marked it as gift.
They then locked her account and froze about £400 she had in it. They are now asking for a tracking number. Got no where talking to them so we have had to post a recorded letter to ourselves to get a tracking number

Re: Paypal Payment Reviewed???

In the end paypal took this money out of my account for good and told me that I could not have it back, I said to the person who I sold the goods to and they were good enough to put it back in my paypal account a second time, just trying to get £50 in my paypal account now so I can transfer the funds to my bank account without charge then I will be closing my paypal account, pity as I won't be able to use ebay again and paypal was an easy way of doing things.

Ebay/Paypal are a joke.

I was glad when my paypal registered credit card expired stopping those cowboys from having any access to my funds.

If you use ebay..... no

I preferred the ebay of old and gave up on it approx 2 years ago.

I find that it many cases you can get the same or very similar items on Amazon via the marketplace sellers which gives me a little more choice as to how I will pay for whatever it is I buy.
