help me decorate my room please

*beware this isnt nothing special to be honest its anything but, hopefully with youre help it will be a masterpiece*

So heres the deal basically i dont know what furniture to buy as you can tell its a wayyyy small room. My bed is brand new and i am wanting to get new bed sheets, blinds etc. Im wanting to get a new chest of drawers (small obviously as size of room but at least 4 drawers) im not too sure on size of room but i will find this out in hte morning. But i can tell that long ways i wouldnt even fit my chest of drawers (long ways) and my bed on the one wall. (yeah it really is that small). Im hoping to get one item of furniture that i can put my tv,xbox, sky, surround sound and pc in. Today i bought a new pc case (desktop) so this would be easier to achieve. Im looking to make my room a lot bigger thatn it looks and am looking for a nice neutral colour. So if you are a small room owner or simply have some good ideas please dont hesitate to give me a hand and i hope to have some brand new pictures to show you in a few weeks time. Im not too fussy about a budget but dont want to go to over the top as im 17 and will most likely be moving out in 1-2 years.

Re: help me decorate my room please

Ok the first thing I would do is if your TV is a lcd then I would use that for the pc along witht he xbox and anything els. I would all so look at getting it up on the wall with somthing like this IKEA | TV solutions | TV solutions for flatscreen TVs up to 37" | OBSERVATÖR | TV wall bracket

But wilkinson do a nice one for £14.99

Next maybe get 2 floating shelf's for your xbox and othere bits like that you can pic up floating shelf cheap as chips or just get some shelfing up

Parts for just Shelfing
IKEA | Wall shelves | Brackets | STÖDIS | Bracket

IKEA | Wall shelves | Shelves | VIKTOR | Shelf

Then I would look at getting shelfing for my dvd's / music something like this
IKEA | CD & DVD storage | CD & DVD furniture | LERBERG | CD/ DVD wall shelf

hope that my help you out a bit as you see you can do it on the cheap and keep the floor space

Re: help me decorate my room please

It'd be a great help if you could get the measurements and if possible a birds-eye plan of the room with door / window / radiator marked on.

I think it's a good idea to have a look around the IKEA site they have some great furniture, the MALM stuff looks wonderful and is quite cheap!

Also as above, shelving is great for small rooms to keep floor space!

As the first reply says the mounting of the tv then use of the PC and Xbox on there would save yourself some space straight away.

With the size of the room and positioning of the window / cupboard and door, i'd say you've got your bed in the right place.

Have you measured the room at all?

Re: help me decorate my room please

Took the first step today. Got a tv unit. Its a corner one so it wont take up that much space t obe honest. And it has just enough shelfs to fit all my things on. Going to ikea tommorow for chest of drawers and perhaps some shelfs and other bits and bobs.

I thought so, you can also get other stuff if you shop around, not necessarily from that site. I think Next offer a few designs based around trees.
