How often do you REALLY listen to music?

I find myself in the VERY fortunate position that we have a dedicated cinema and we watch LOTS of films; I think that the effort and cost is fully justified for our use and lifestyle.

I also happen to really like music, but we just do not seem to find the time to REALLY listen to music. Sure I have an iPod and listen to this frequently when I travel up to London, but I do not constitute this as REAL listening, it more serves as a tranquil distraction whilst traveling.

For the first time in as long as I can remember, we just sat and listened to music in the cinema tonight and I love it! I just wish there was more time in life.

Ian.

Re: How often do you REALLY listen to music?

i share the feeling, at the moment, i tend to listen in the ipod to and from work, in the gym. At home i listen to music when i'm getting ready for work in the morning and maybe just before i'm going to sleep. Rarely have the time just to sit down and listen to music nowadays.

Re: How often do you REALLY listen to music?

I listen to the DAB radio and play a couple of LP's everyday. I am curently listening to the new Guns N' Roses on vinyl. It sounds very good.

I make a effort to listen to Pink Floyds The Wall every month and have done so for the last 14 years since I bought the LP.

Re: How often do you REALLY listen to music?

I listen to my music everyday pretty much, I commute to work so it passes the time on the trains to and from work. Probably why I can justify spending a small foretune on IEMs and mp3 players.
It's quite funny 'cos I'm often listening while looking out the windows and I can't ear anything but the music, really ticks off the ticket checkers who are often left screaming at me for my ticket.

Re: How often do you REALLY listen to music?

Have just bought some Zeppelin speakers for the i-pod and am planning to listen to a lot more music from now on as I seem to have gotten out of the habit these days.

It isn't even my favourite PF album (second favourite). It was the first PF LP I bought. I prefer DSOTM and like to listen to it less than the Wall to appreciate it more. I have 7 copies of it including several picture discs, regular version and the 30th Anniversary edition.

Re: How often do you REALLY listen to music?

Most days i'll spend upto an hour sat in the chair, at night so it's dark, listening to music. My wife can often tell what my mood is by what I am listening to.

I left it at the Japanese varient and the 30th anniversary edition.

Ultimately if you chaps want to listen to music, you must use a device that compells you to do so. I like iPods muchly but find that you generally pick your way through music rather than really getting to grips with it.

This of course leans towards turntables . Do it you won't regret it.
