Thanks: Gave 32, Got 46 | Tasteless relatives!
My sister is the queen of tack, a house festooned with 8 million lights and inflatables and an interior featuring atleast 2 dozen plastic fibre optic nativity scenes, animated Santas galore and a Christmas tress so laden with rubbish it is amazing it even stands upright. The tree even has a Santa train riding around it.
Anyone else got any relatives with zero taste when it comes to festive decor?

My girlfriend tells people im scrooge for not having decorations, but the real reason is that her 2 cats would climb the tree and tip it over.

It's christmas?
I hadn't noticed.
Parents have a few lights up that's all.
Can't stand the cheap tacky OTT decorating / lighting people do.
Very few look really good.

When we walk into the house of a certain family friend its like going into a pound shop - bloody bells, whistles, lights & inflatable thingamajigs everywhere!
We just stick to a tastefully decorated tree.

We've opted for no tree also this year and the Christmas cards go in a pile straight away. I have to say, it's a lot less depressing than usual. It's the way forward.

We don't have any decorations in our house but it amazes me sometimes at the amount of time/money/effort people put in to their decorations. What we think looks tacky, will have been a lot of hard work for them.

I think a tree is far better than a Christmas with the Griswalds.
Besides Xmas day after I have cooked for 10 people I will be spending with the partners sister and no doubt be building loads of kids toys as per usual whilst being totally inebriated.
When home I plan on playing my new Blu-rays, trying out my new PS3 and Xbox games and getting more drunk.
Infact not one member of my family is boring, they all love a laugh, just my sister loves proper tat and I hate it.
Thank god I haven't had the urge to backlight my AV sytem with LED's from IKEA of all places.
We can't all have good taste obviously. LOL

If you find your relatives are tasteless, then try cooking a turkey for dinner instead. |

Sure some are tacky but I don't care what anyone says, it'd be a whole lot duller with those ridiculous lights.
