Beware Card Fraudsters!!! Check your account

Hi all just a heads up on this....
At midnight tonight I logged in to my online bank account and found a payment out to VUE BSL Ltd last sunday for £5.35
I did not recognise the transaction so rang the bank and they said it was at 10:45 am on sunday in birmingham

whilst on the phone I googled VUE BSL and immediateley up came warnings about fraudulent transactions where cinema tickets are bought for around a fiver first and then more and more money is taken from a card for goods etc until the true holder realises but by this time the fraudster has a wad from selling the goods

I have stopped/blocked my card immediately now which means I cannot do online banking or buy my Xmas food shop without going to the branch to take out cash what a bloody week to have this happen

and it was only a coupla months old the card wonder where it was skimmed???
One thing I placed an order on Sunday morning with the carphone warehouse online but their system saves the card details and a person runs through the transaction later not blaming them just exploring the possibilities!!
Also my Son's account Bank not card was compromised earlier in the year when £9500 was payed in in London by cheque he didn't know where it was from so notified the branch and they said someone had deposited fraudulent money and was probably hoping to draw on it if it cleared

All this leads me down the path to think there is a naughty person at the local postal sorting office

ANYWAY KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR STATEMENT FOR A SMALL OUT TO VUE BSL Ltd

Cheers

Ned

Re: Beware Card Fraudsters!!! Check your account

Not to VUE but I had a letter this morning from this company

T.M.Lewin Shirtmakers

asking for security verification on an order I had apparently placed and asking me to ring them to verify. When I got through they confirmed that one of my (now defunct) credit cards was used to place an order for 9 shirts to the value of £250 to be delivered to an address they had been warned was a 'hotspot' for fraudulent orders to be delivered to.

Re: Beware Card Fraudsters!!! Check your account

Bought a phone from Carphone Warehouse online last year.Within a week my card details were used to purchase "top ups" upto the value of £100+.
Coincidence?I think not!
Never used them since and never will.

With known 'bad' delivery addresses it makes you wonder why the police just don't go around and nick the fraudsters...... presumably too busy fining motorists or dishing out cautions for smacking kids.
