I saw a Toy Story 2 DVD, and the price was £19.99. I don't care whether there was a further discount that I hadn't taken into account or not.
The store itself appeared unchanged from my last memories of going to a Woolworths, in Stockport, ten years ago. Then I walked in, just for a look, and they largely sold tat, or overpriced stuff that I might have wanted but could have walked a few metres down the street and bought cheaper. And the store looked rather 'scruffy'.
Todays was a different store, in a different town, and the story was the same. Only, the store was full of people, all looking to get a bargain (and there was no shortage of stock), and yet the queue at the tills was pitiful.
I feel terribly sorry for the staff, who appear to be loyal and hardworking. They have, in my opinion, been badly let down by their management.
Kind regards,
Damo
