Play.com "monster sale" a total con

To give an example, they say best of 2008 blu-ray up to 80% off.

Ok, so I saw Kung Fu Panda is advertised within the 80% off, yet the price is exactly the same it was yesterday.

Can they do this?

Re: Play.com "monster sale" a total con

There appears to be no mention of a sale on the site so I don't think it has started yet.

Re: Play.com "monster sale" a total con

There was a "monster sale starts tomorrow" banner yesterday and early this morning, but this has disappeared now
It must be on its way as some prices have gone up (in order to come back down I suppose )

Looks like they deleted it already. It was there at 8am this morning.

Most of the time its always like this with Play (and I imagine many other retailers, only really use Play)

However they often have some very good bargains - some of the Star Wars staues a year or so back where very VERY cheap

Play.com plus others always do this DVD's from 2.99 with a Quantum of Solace screen shot or similar just to get you to click on it thats all, it's not a 'con' as such just 'marketing'.

TBH, it seems like a pretty good sale.
