Ice Cream Sauce...

Does anyone know the name / brand (and ideally a website) of the sauce that when you pour it over ice cream it sets hard like chocolate...

Used to get it but I can't remember what it's called and i'm struggling to find it on google

Also where can I find it, I looked in both tesco and asda and saw nothing that looked like it to me!

Thumbs up Re: Ice Cream Sauce...

Hi,

I used to love that stuff. According to here, there's some kind of new stuff available, that is similar.

Re: Ice Cream Sauce...

Do they still make it?
Are the alternatives?

I seem to remember having some the other year that was a popular brand of sauces, but I can't think who it was, i'm sure it wasn't Ice Magic, but I sure know that name!

Re: Ice Cream Sauce...

Ice Magic was the name for the sauce in Australia, although here I think it may have been called Magic Shell.

Silver spoon company make "monster cracking chocolate sauce" and also "Choc 'n' Mint crackin'!" branded Askeys.

try welcome to Askeys - Ice Cream's best friend for similar alternatives to the original Ice Magic

Ice Magic was big in America too as we had family who brought a load over once years ago, that was the first time I ever saw it, then a while ago got hold of some of the newer stuff that Monster Crackin' and had totally forgot all about it until this morning when talking to someone about yummy ice cream

Re: Ice Cream Sauce...

We had Ice Magic in the UK, must have been the early 80's. I remember the bottle was kind of cone / pyramid shaped with a cap that looked like it had melted down around the top of the squeezy bottle. I used to enjoy it more than the ice cream!

I used to have Ice Magic as a kid, the tops looked like the ghosts off of Pac Man!

Re: Ice Cream Sauce...

I remember being disappointed to find that it only went hard on cold stuff, like ice cream.

Great description! I remember they had a wavy edged base and used to stand up on their own.
