Wanted : help buying an item

Hey guys a slightly strange request but I need some help buying an item. I live in taunton and I am trying to buy this item:
Currys shop online for appliances, laptops, televisions, MP3 players, sat nav, digital cameras and camcorders, games consoles and more
As a collect and reserve item from the liverpool Aintree branch of Currys. I have tried ringing customer services asking if they can do an internal transfer and was told to poke off basically. IF anyone could do me a favour and collect it from store and post it to me would be more than happy to pay £30 for it rather than the price of £20

Please dont take this the wrong way, but why dont you pay for del?

It will still cost less than £30, unless I am missing something?

Trust me I would if I could - it says that it is a non delivery item and can only be collected in store - the only store I can find one in is the one I have stated. I wanna pay someone £30 inc so that they get at least a fiver and therefore gives them a small incentive to actually get it whilst they are doing their xmas shopping. I tried negotiating with call centre staff asking them to do internal store xfer so I could collect in Taunton but they were having none of it

You should not have posted this in the classifieds, majorwedgy. I've moved it to General Chat but it shoudn't really be here either. Why don't you find some Aintree members and PM them. And don't be surprised if this thread gets deleted.

edit: having said that i've just noticed they're out of stock - maybe try calling/emailing them to find out when/if they'll get new ones in

Thanks Travid much appreciated. Mrs is a nightmare to buy xmas pressies for and she said she wanted a radio and this looked in a word - perfect!

You shouldn't need a modword about it. You've posted in the classifieds penty therefore you've read the rules. What you're seeking is a favour from a member and the classifieds is not quite the best place for that.

I dont want to fall foul of the rules but I honestly couldnt find reference to favours in the rules and technical I am placing a wanted ad for an item and am stating a price that I am willing to pay for that item £30 inc.
But thanks for the clarification I shall bare it in mind for the future

Thanks for looking matey much appreciated - like I said I did a search based on all the places I have people living or where i used to live and the only place I could find was the aintree store in Liverpool. unfortunately the people I know up north live a little bit too far from liverpool to get it for me

Thanks Travid, really appreciate it, pretty certain the only place in the country with one is aintree. Think I may just end up keeping my eye on fleabay as that I think is the only way I am gonna get one.

Ah, it looks like Currys and PCWorld slashed the price to under a tenner as a special on line offer and presumably sold virtually the whole lot at the end of last month...

ahhh that would make a lot of sense! wish they would just say not in stock rather than reserve and collect! once again thanks for all your efforts guys - who knows I may one day be able to return the favour
