Anyone work for Sky or Virgin Media?

After 5 long years at Autoglass, I think it could be time for a change in direction, and thinking with my limited qualifications and skills (only other area I've worked in other than motors has been the music industry, which pays eff all!) this seems like a logical avenue to look at... I have a fairly decent grasp (I think) of media systems : TV (Sky/Freeview/VM boxes), broadband/internet/routers etc so this might be a suitable environment to work in...

So if anyone works for either of these two, any advice on the job and more importantly, how much do you get paid!?!?!?!

Re: Anyone work for Sky or Virgin Media?

Sky were just hiring a whole raft of engineers/installers just about across the whole country. The pay sn't bad and you get free Sky+ on top package, free BB and free sky talk unlimited (free daytime, eve and weekend landline calls +- calls to top 20 international destinations, Most of Europe, Aus, NZ, US+Canada).

The pay for someone like myself who works in a call centre isn;t so bad, £15.2k a year atm but going up in a few months I hope. Check out the sky website and see what they've got.

Thats about £100 a month of free services, which is money you don't need to earn and pay tax on before spending it, so not a bad little boost there.
