The new Doctor Who

Just heard on the radio this morning that David Tennant is hanging up his sonic screwdriver.
Ill be sad to see David Tennant go i think he has been a great Doctor who.
So the search is on for a new Doctor Who.
Who would you like to see as the new Doctor Who?

Re: The new Doctor Who

Props to Tennant, he did a great job and will go down as the second best Dr for me after Tom Baker.

As to who next, tough call, but please let it be somebody inherently quirky by nature.

BTW, for some reason I presumed Tennant was gay but apparently he has a GF...

I believe he is going out with the women who played his daughter in the last series, Georgia Moffett .Who in real life is actually Peter Davison daughter the 5th doctor.
Lucky sod she is defiantly pleasing to the eye.

Should be in the TV section but hey...

I think Vinnie Jones would be great. I could imagine him whacking some bad Alien's head in the Tardis door!

Thankfully he has quit the BBC and has run off to Hollywood. If he got the part I would stop watching. Same with Matt Lucas, please god no!!!

Dylan Moran could be funny! Especially if he plays it as an Irish drunk!

Re: The new Doctor Who

They should go backwards and Paul McGann should do it, so they can show the adventures of the 8th Doctor and the Time War.

I was never 100% satisfied with David Tennant, he snarled too much dialogue through his teeth all the time.

Also I wish they wouldnt leave so early? Eccleston did 1 series and Tenant did 3 series. Tom Baker did it for 7 years and is still the best Doctor.

Eccleston left because he didn't want to be typecast. That's the problem with such a famous acting role.

Eddie Izzard would make an awsome Doctor.

I think the person for the role should be quintessentially British in the same way James Bond is, but the Doctor should be an extrovert and slightly wacky I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who would be perfect

Whoever it is has a tough act to follow, this could impact the short list. A little known actor or a female may fit the bill to get round this problem.

Who ever they pick I hope they have eaten a proper meal once in a while, current guy looks like he hasnt eaten for 3 months... They also need to bring a totally new direction to it and not be a clone.

Ill add Lenny Henry to the list, 1st Black President and the 1st Black Dr Who, let those taboo's keep falling

Paterson Joseph (of Peep Show and Mitchell & Webb's 'numberwang' sketch) appears to be the bookies favourite, and was mention several days ago (before Tennant's official announcement) as the new Doctor (claimed to be accurate inside info ... but could just as easily be horsepoo) ... would be a good choice imho, he's got a serious acting pedigree as well as his more recent comedy acting, and about the right age too (about 40ish I think)
