Thanks: Gave 6, Got 8 | A guide to Wales please
Hi Guys,
After posting for some advice for Cornwall and getting great ideas and recommendations back and then actually going there a few months back was AMAZING!
Now me and the GF are planning to go to Wales in October and are again looking for places to visit, things to do and of course those lovely mountain walks and views to see.
For all those who have been there done it, please can I have ideas / recommendation.
I will be going there for a week.
S

which part are you going to, believe it or not its actually very big.
Just remember there are also 3 national parks in wales, they will have a host of info on their websites, North - Snowdonia, East - Brecon Beacons, west - my home Pembrokeshire, depending on where you go

Also the Gower peninsula. Gower was the first place designated 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' under the Act of 1949. www.the-gower.com www.enjoygower.com

Pembrokeshire is great - Tenby is a nice town with a couple of decent beaches and tons of restaurants. - We have holidayed there the last few years (staying in cottages). It is not a typical British seaside town ( it does not have a long stretch of seafront full of arcades and funfairs). You can catch a boat over to Caldey Island.
In North Wales, there is Portmerion famous for being the village where they filmed The Prisoner.
And in between those 2 places you have some of the best beaches and most stunning scenery in Britain. (mind you though, a day on the beach in October may not be one of my better suggestions! )
Of course, if you see any of that blue stuff your visit will be so much better

That run along the coast from the Dale Peninsula to St. Davids really is lovely, we took the puffin bus from Marloes to St Davids and it wound along tiny lanes and up and down into the different havens - gorgeous!
