Suggestions for garden

Can anone recommend any shrubs for my garden that meet most of the fllowing

(1) Are colourful (blue, red or yellow)
(2) Are not too green (sounds daft i know)
(3) Do well in clay soil
(4) Come back year in year out and just need regular pruning
(5) Give a good few months of colour

If possible could do with some recommendations for both Summer and Winter flowering as well

Re: Suggestions for garden

Roses perhaps? Not all of them have a strong smell, but they always look nice.

Got fair few roses - even couple which are supposed to be for the winter

after some shrubs now - nthing that grows too big but that provide good array of year round color

Re: Suggestions for garden

If I were you I would go along to my local garden centre or Nursery and Get chatting with a member of staff, if you can find one, Tell them about your growing conditions and requirements and I'm sure they will recommend you some good plants and shrubs..I did the same a couple of months ago after landscaping my garden and now my plants are thriving

still after a few more recommendations though for front garden

After something that can be planted now(ish) for next spring and autumn that will smell nice (powerful smell as possible but at same time nice and subtle) and also flower nice and for awhile

Also is it too late to plan anything now for winter and spring ? if not then any recomendations using above criteria

local garden centre very under stocked, partculary in staff and those I asked next to useless
