Stop washing getting wet?

Hi,
Not sure if this is the corect place to put this.
What I am after is something I can use with my rotary air dryer to stop it getting wet if it rains.Sometime before we go out, we look at the weather and if it looks its going to rain then we will put washing (mainly towels from morning shower) in the tumble dryer,so I was wondering if there is something I can use on my rotary air dryer that will allow the towels to get dry, and will keep off the rain. Not suer if a gazebo with side panels will do that, didn't really want something that big, but if it works might be the best option.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Steve

How about a house in The Pays de La Loire? On the basis that we haven't had any rain for nearly 3 months and everything is starting to look a little scorched, that should stop it getting wet.
What's that, you didn't want to know that we have forgotten what rain is? Oops, sorry!

Re: Stop washing getting wet?

Thanks Mr Incredible, exactly what I was looking for
, a bit pricey though, I guess it would take 1yr to pay for its self, but the way that electricity is going up for the tumble dryer it will work out about a month if it keeps in going up

Re: Stop washing getting wet?

Funnily enough, on the last series of Dragon's Den (think it was the last series anyway) a bloke came on wanting funding having developed just such a device - if memory serves he got their backing too. Think it was similar to Mr Incredible's link.

Rotamate is also on ebay:
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/rotamate_ltd/

works well and is a good idea, could be bigger, build quality could be better but is OK.

The picture on airer.co.uk is misleading as it is much smaller than a person

Re: Stop washing getting wet?

Thanks to both of you

But I fail to see how this will stop clothes getting wet from sideways rain, there is nothing at the sides to stop the rain getting wet, only covers the top for direct rain, from what I can work out.Or am I wrong?

If there was something on the sides, then it would stop clothes getting dry even on a dry day (as there would be no air flow).

It's a compromise - you could have a larger 'roof' and stop some of the sideways rain - but that would be an engineering nightmare. These things are only designed to stop a light shower - and as such are probably a good idea.

And if you've got sideways rain, the air is going to be too damp to get anything dry.

Re: Stop washing getting wet?

I can't see my 5'1" wife being able to get the first cover over the top of the washing line ! Shame. as that one looks like it would be more effective and fits an existing line

So, the post from Mr Incredible seems the best way to go.

Thanks to all
