I hear where you are coming from.

Even now if I only have six or seven pints spread out over 5-6 hours I will have one in the morning.

In the past having just three TV channels. The following day you could talk about what programme you'd watched the night before. Hardly happens now. I prefer the bigger choice but still something different.
