Re: Matrress through a seccond floor window,
You could hire a cherry picker, with a bloke to operate it, for a hundred quid or so - or you could find a nearby small hire centre and walk in there with some cash and a suggestion....

i have took furniture in and out of a first floor window using ladders , not sure i would like to do it on the second floor though , 2 sets of ladders side by side is the way to go , and a rope around the mattress held at the top , have fun

Why not get two singles and put them side by side?

wouldn't really want to damage it tbh, looked into those scissor lifts from HSS but some co's are saying you have to be certified to use them, anyone here used them,

Re: Matrress through a seccond floor window,
Why not one of those memory foam mattresses, I think most of them come in a small roll, something like this in the picture.

Why not buy a memory foam matress, They come in a role like a loft isulation roll and are good to sleep on too.

Re: Matrress through a seccond floor window,
I did a similar thing with a friend's wardrobe when he moved house - it was lifted up onto the garage roof and in through the bedroom window (which was ridiculously large!).
From experience, then, all you need is two ladders and four six-foot blokes. Oh, and one woman to make the tea.......
Edit: Just noticed, second floor window. In that case, I'd go with the cherry picker!
