Things people say that annoy you...

"Random" - why is everything random at the moment?
"hey guys, guess what i did today, your not going to believe the randomness of it all, i went to this random shop and randomly bought a random bottle of water, it was just soooooo random"

"My bad" - What is that all about?? This is England so speak English "My mistake" or "My fault" will suffice.

"Can I ARKS you a question" - Sorry what did you say, can you ARKS me a question? When you learn to speak properly then maybe you could ASK me a question.

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

People that start sentences with the work "basically" then start to explain what they want / or happened in the most unbasic fassion imaginable.

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

Random does have a meaning ....

Take my photo thread for example. Basically they are just random photo's in that they are not grouped by any theme.

'gotten' btw.... annoys me.

I heard a new one earlier today.

My mate doesn't have weaknesses, apparently. He has...

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

The management waffle always annoys me.

Also "Maccie D's" - when I hear people say that it reminds me of those hooded, skull faced druggies you see.....

"alrarrrt mon, gon Maccie D's fo us" etc etc

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

"I could care less" - it's "I COULDN'T care less" you morons! "I COULD" insinutates just that - you COULD care LESS, meaning you do infact care! "I couldn't care less" insinuates you don't care at all, therefore it would be impossible to actually have any LESS care than you do, as you have none!

Morons!

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

People who have been out and "brought" something. Really? Do you plan to "bruy" anything else?

Me..."have you finished the job?"

Other...."Yes............apart from."

Me..."Well its not blooming finished then!!!".......arghhhh.....

Note my polite way of venting anger..........do not use "blooming" all the time....sometimes say ..."dam"...

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

A couple more.

This one's written, but I can't stand people who don't know the difference between "affect" and "effect". It drives me mad!

Also, and I'm not sure about this one, but when people say something like "Well, thats patently obvious..." Patently? Surely it should be blatantly? Like I say, maybe just me....

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

"pacifically" instead of "specifically"

"vunnerable" instead of "vulnerable"

"med-sin" instead of "medecine"

"Wensday" instead of "Wednesday"

"Febry" instead of "February"

"could of" instead of "could have"

People who pronounce the word "retch" as "reach"

People who, when talking about something someone else said, say "He goes....". Really? Where did he go?

and "arks" instead of "ask" winds me up so much that I'm mentioning it for a second time!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, I am the son of an English teacher and, yes, I am a complete pedant where the English language is concerned.....

Re: Things people say that annoy you...

Could of instead of could have.

Then instead of than.

There are too many to mention!
