Places to stay in Oxford ?

I'm possibly doing my work experience down in Oxford for this media company, it's a fantastic opportunity for me but at this moment I have nowhere to stay. I'm pretty sure non of my family lives down there either so I don't have many options other than to look at a hotel.

I'll be needing to stay for a minimum of one week, preferably two. But I've been looking at prices at places such as holiday inn and it's like £80 per night. Can anyone point me to somewhere I can stay for a realistic price?

Thanks a bunch.

Re: Places to stay in Oxford ?

try this site: www.dailyinfo.co.uk
(the most useful site for buying, selling, renting, letting, etc ... in Oxford)
- in addition to browsing the notices and ads on available accomodation, you can also place a free ''room wanted'' notice at www.dailyinfo.co.uk/unified_adboard.php?col=rw

there are a few other "cheap" hotels around Peartree interchange on the A34 and Oxford Business Park (Premier Travel Inn, and Travelodge ... if I recall correctly); there are also quite a few B&B/Guesthouses on Abingdon Rd (very close to the centre, one of these cost me about £40/night a couple of years ago)

Re: Places to stay in Oxford ?

I'll ask around for you where is the media company based and what would you like to be paying?

Dave

Re: Places to stay in Oxford ?

Thanks guys.

That site, I found a room for 120 for 2 weeks. So I guess I'm looking for something in that range, preferably lower obviously.

Thanks very much !!!

That sounds about right for Oxford digs ... at the lower end
- you'll be hard pressed to find anything cheaper

... still you never know you might be contacted about cheaper lodging if you stick something on that "room wanted" noticeboard on DailyInfo
